Absolutely amazing! Delicious food, best ive had in a while.
Staff are all friendly and happy, nice change of pace from miserable staff. They seem to love their job and each other.

Booths are comfortable, restaurant is clean, organized and nicely decorated.
I came here after driving by it on the way to school wondering what its like. Absolutely awesome place, will be recommending it!

Prices are good too!

Slow service, waited 45 minutes to pickup a To-go order. It is a buffet style service and the owner refused to pack up my to go order until the entire line to the back of the store was served. Couldn’t be bothered to take 30 seconds and box it.

If you are making the pilgrimage to see the Carters site in Plains, do yourself a big favor and stop at Gladys in Americus. Wonderful Sunday “after church” spot. Was lucky to get there before the crowd and had the best okra & tomatoes, butter beans, rice, and Mac and cheese. Husband devoured his fried chicken!

Wherever you are in the World, find a way to get to Gladys. Its fantastic!!! The food and the people. This place is clean. The food is hot. Did I say delicious??? We love this place. People were lined up before it opened. Try the smothered anything. Cheese broccoli casserole. Don’t forget – you can’t leave without the butterball dessert. I’m telling you! Don’t leave without trying it. !!!

My husband, toddler granddaughter, and I enjoyed dinner at Gladys’ restaurant this Sunday and were treated to a delightful experience.
Although small, the restaurant is designed with an additional level for expanded seating, which my small family enjoyed.
As to the menu, there are three protein offerings. This day baked chicken, fried chicken, and smothered pork chops were served. The sides included rice and dressing, as well as several vegetables, such as stewed tomatoes and okra, collards, macaroni and cheese, and black-eyed peas. Cornbread muffins and cornbread pancakes were also served. Banana pudding and red velvet cake were offered for dessert.
It was easy to tell the favorites because the trays were near empty, like the Mac and cheese, the dressing, and the fried chicken.
We tried everything except for the dressing, mac and cheese, and smothered chops and it was all delicious.
The service was somewhat slow, but the staff was attentive and friendly, especially the owner Ms. Tracia Tullis, who assisted us to our table, and checked on us throughout.
Although we were just passing through, we may make Gladys’ Kitchen a regular stop on this particular route.

From the road you can see the sign so you won’t miss it. The parking lot is very small and tight, but they make it work. Standing out front, it smells delicious. Reminds you of being at nanas’ house for a family dinner. The baked chicken was good. The dressing is good. Don’t have high expectations it is not like at home seasoned dressing. The brown gravy is better than the chicken gravy, or so it was when I had them. Mac and Cheese was good and cheesy. The smothered cube steak was burnt along the outside on some parts, but it still had an overall good taste. The restaurant was clean, and it’s spacious enough. There was one person who walked around as a server type, which was fine for those dining in. The line staff was professional and proficient and severing the line and fixing takeout orders in a timely manner. It is a place I would revist whenever I’m near.

Rude!! Ordered to go, arrived for pickup, waited 25 minutes for my order to be put in a box as food is already prepared ready to serve. Would not pack my food up until long line was served where they gave away all the chicken including the piece I ordered 45 minutes beforehand. Told me it would be additional 25 minute wait for them to make more chicken. Never again!!! Rude bad service.
