It’s great to have a new Thai place in Candler! This much-anticipated restaurant occupies a former bank building, and its completely redone interior strikes a nice balance, somehow feeling spacious and cozy at the same time. Decor is tasteful and sets the theme without being cloying or cluttered.
The menu selection is not extensive but still fully adequate. My basil garlic dish was quite tasty, served on a bed of cabbage. A spring roll, a flavorful dipping sauce, and a helping of jasmine rice were included in the price. The Thai iced tea was one of the best I’ve ever had.
Our server was delightfully cordial; a service kink or two was to be expected this early after opening, and I’m sure will be quickly resolved.
Had a pleasant experience with friends and family, and will happily return soon.

Good dinner at the newly opened Ocha Thai in Candler. We started with the egg rolls, chicken satay, and fish cakes. The appetizers were all delicious. My Ginger Snapper pictured was not only beautiful but also tasty. The fresh ginger and vegetable mix complement the crispy fish. Definitely recommend to give this new restaurant a try. Service was excellent and atmosphere was quaint.

Candler is excited to have a new locally owned restaurant open near the corner of Smokey Park and Sandhill Road!
I enjoyed a lunch of appetizers: dumplings, spring rolls, rice. All were delicious! The spring rolls & dumplings were served with sauces that were tasty & aromatic, and added to the dishes. They also swapped nicely.
I only have 1 negative and this is universal, and going out to ANY establishment serving hot tea (with a teabag). Please, for the love of all that is good, when you serve hot tea with a teabag, may I please have a saucer, PLEASE? A spoon would be helpful too, but at least a saucer? What am I supposed to do with the teabag? Let it steep indefinitely or set it in a puddle on the table? I apologize for the rant but this is a pet peeve, and it happens 98% of the time I order hot tea, and it makes me crazy.

Ocha is a newly opened (Jan. 2026) locally owned Thai restaurant. It has a fun atmosphere with the building previously being a bank. I had the Pad Thai and my son had the Chicken and Fried Rice. Both were very good. We went at lunchtime where the lunch special was $13 and included a bowl of soup.

Food is super tasy! They just opened their doors so give the servers a break. If you like Thai food and are in the area check them out and help out a local restaurant. Get the whole fish if you like fish. They cooked it perfectly!

A great addition to Candler dining! We were seated and served drinks promptly. Menu has a nice variety of options. Started with spring rolls and chicken satay. The chicken pieces were large, moist and tasty as well as the sauces. For entrees we had Pad See Ew noodles and Pa-Lo duck. Both portions were large. We ordered shrimp with the noodles and they were large plentiful and tasty as well. The duck comes with skin and bones so it takes some work to eat it but if you like duck you’ll love it. Service was very polite and efficient. We are looking forward to trying other items on the menu.

Food was good! The kitchen was ultra slow, but they will figure it out. The pad thai had a sweet taste- I liked it! We also had a stir fry dish that was well sauced

Just finished our first meal at Ocha and we were blown away! The Thai iced tea was fragrant and sweet, spring rolls and papaya salad had the perfect crunch, and our entrees of pad Thai, ginger stir fry, and red curry were phenomenal. Everything was flavorful, cooked to perfection, and arrived in great time. Excited to have this new restaurant in the neighborhood!
