I want to say how grateful I am to the chef and employees at Mack’s Sterling location. I mistakenly selected the wrong time to pick up my order. I needed for 10:45 and accidentally placed the order for 11:45. This store was so accommodating to my mistake, and they don’t even open until 11:00. Good people, good food, good service. And still kind to me when I came to pick up. Grateful for this level of professionalism. Many thanks to the chef for making this happen so quickly. Thank you so much.

My brother in law took me here because he loves the pork skins with pimento cheese. They were just ok to me. It wasn’t something I’d order. I ordered the chopped beef sandwich and it was okay but not great. I did like having fried mushrooms as a side though. And they do have quite a few different sauces to accompany your BBQ. But overall, I didn’t find a lot that would make me want to go back. Service was excellent!

I’ve been here a handful of times, I like coming on Wednesday because the salad bar is $5 and it has salad fruit, soups, some choice of dessert multiple dressing and some really good crackers. I also always get the fried mushrooms they are my favorite and they are so good! Today we tasted the barbecue fries, I didn’t like the battered fries on them I wouldn’t get them again. Overall everything is good the atmosphere, the food and the service is excellent. I’ve always enjoyed my visits here.

I have driven by Mack’s many times on the way to Jesup from Jacksonville and have always wanted to stop and try it. This time I did stop and was beyond happy I did. The food was great. I tried a little of everything. The service was excellent, and the place was nice inside. Thumbs up on all their meats and BBQ sauce. I will be back.

I placed a curbside pickup order today. Took about 6-8 minutes for someone to come see me then I had to wait more than 20 minutes to receive my food. I also was missing a drink. I will not be coming back for a long time this was a waste of time waiting 20 minutes for 4 chicken strips, a side salad, 2 drinks, and a side of fries. If I had known it would be such a long wait I would have gone somewhere else. Was not happy at all.

This unfortunately is not the first bad experience we’ve had with the same waitress. We came in around 7:10 PM, ordered food and drinks, and while the food came out quickly, that was the last time we received any actual service. The blondish waitress never checked on our table, never offered refills, and we sat with empty drinks for a long time.
We don’t ask for much when we go out to eat. We don’t run waitresses, and we even clean up after ourselves wherever we go. But when poor service becomes a habit, especially from the same waitress, it needs to be addressed.
Instead of doing her job, she spent the majority of the time at the bar with another young brunette waitress, openly flirting with three guys while ignoring paying customers. The next—and only—time we saw her was when she dropped off the bill. When we asked for to-go boxes, there was still no effort to ask about refills or to-go drinks; we had to ask ourselves.
We also had a small child with us who had been without a drink for quite some time, which made the lack of attention even more frustrating. The food is good, but the repeated lack of service alone is enough to make us think twice about coming back.

Needed ribs for a funeral. Asked for full rack of ribs. Was told a 1 1/2 lbs equal a full rack. Asked for 3 racks or 4 1/2 lbs. I Was very disappointed. I received a pan full of bones small meatless bones. Most was burned small pieces. They are the cheapest hands down, but you get exactly what you pay for!

I thoroughly enjoyed my pork sandwich, but the fries are what really blew me away. They have a very unique flavor and texture, that I found to be delicious. The pulled pork sandwich, was quite dry and didn’t look all that special, but somehow still tasted freaking amazing. Super reasonable prices too. I would recommend if you live in the area or need a place to eat that’s not too far off i95. Overall 4.5/5
