I recently tried out Best Chinese Kitchen in Bellflower, and it was a bit of a mixed experience for me. I went with a combo plate that had double orange chicken, chow mein, and fried rice.

Chow Mein: The chow mein definitely had that authentic look and feel you’d expect. The portion was good, and it was cooked pretty evenly. My only complaint was that it ended up a tad dry, which makes me think it had been sitting out a little longer than ideal. Still, the flavor was there.

Fried Rice: The fried rice had a nice veggie and egg mix, not too overpowering. But again, I think it had been sitting out because it was on the dry side and even had a few harder grains. So not quite the perfect texture you hope for.

Orange Chicken: They really loaded me up with a huge portion of orange chicken, which at first seemed awesome. The sauce had that classic orange chicken taste, but the chicken itself was super soggy. I was really looking forward to that crispy bite, and instead it was kind of a letdown. After a couple of pieces, it just wasn’t as enjoyable, which was a disappointment since I was really craving that crunch.

In addition to my main combo plate, I also got a second plate with fried rice, orange chicken, and barbecue pork. Unfortunately, the barbecue pork just didn’t hit the mark at all. When I bit into it, it was really soggy and honestly tasted like it had been boiled instead of roasted or grilled. Usually, I expect barbecue pork to have a nice crispy edge or at least a bit of a tangy, slightly caramelized flavor, but this was more like a Thanksgiving ham that had been baked with pineapple and cherries, just not what you’d want or expect from Chinese barbecue pork. It was pretty disappointing and honestly a bit unpleasant.

So overall, between the dry rice, the soggy orange chicken, and the off-putting barbecue pork, the meal just didn’t deliver what I was hoping for. Maybe it was just an off day, but I left pretty let down this time.

Two plates with orange chicken, fried rice, and chow mein, plus one additional plate with orange chicken, fried rice, and BBQ pork.

This place used to be the best Chinese food restaurant mainly because of their portions and the food also taste good however they recently They increased their prices, and in addition to that, they reduced the size of the container they serve the food in, so you’re getting much smaller portions than before. Extremely disappointed with the portion sizes.

We all know rice and noodles are very cheap to make, and grocery prices have gone down.

There used to be a line here on any given day—and there was a reason for that: the portions! Today I walked in and there were no customers, no regulars. If you get a side, it’s a little over five dollars, not like it was before, and the to-go container is tiny. Don’t expect to get a container full of food that you can barely close anymore.

Sadly this location has risen their prices with new owners, the new cashiers are very rude, lazy (as they just stared at us while eating their McDonald’s fires as if they should help us or not) and don’t seem to comprehend a consumers order as they asked us 3 times if rice was the only thing we were getting (when we said eso es todo), the food has lost its taste and they are looking for a new prep ugh, food doesn’t taste the same, lost its flavor.

Had to add queso fresco since the rice has lost flavor ☹️ and just this is $6.00
Don’t come here

I wish I can give them 0 stars but this place is horrible. Chicken is old and they burn it so you won’t know it’s old food. 0 stars never coming back.

It stays mildly busy. I expect that from places with tasty food. People keep coming back, so it it probably good.

Been to this place off and on, the portions are huge cool for sharing plates for the good price, but the quality over the years is terrible. Idk how they keep cooking the rice and noodles to taste burnt. Teriyaki chicken rubbery and orange chicken isn’t orange it’s really dark and is crunchy even though it’s super sauce up. They lost their touch.
