Hands down the best sushi place I have ever been too! From the beginning we walked in with my family. We were greeted with a huge smile and got seated in a private booth. The service, the staff and atmosphere there is really nice and kid friendly! After we payed our meal. The host/server gave my son a free toy. Thank you so much for not rushing him because he couldn’t decide what to pick. We had a great time here and we can’t wait to be back again!!

I went to this restaurant on a Saturday for lunch right as they opened. We walked in, and luckily, they had availability. We were quickly seated since it wasn’t busy yet.

The restaurant interior was very upscale and fancy. With the silver, mirror-like ceiling and marble-like floors, it was definitely an upscale sushi restaurant. The booth we sat in was spacious. The table provided wet napkins, which was helpful for cleaning our hands without having to visit the restroom. The booth seating was slightly dirty, but nothing we couldn’t clean on our own. The seat was also very comfortable, but it has a slight forward tilt, making you feel slightly seated forward. We were concerned my two-year-old niece would slide off. Luckily, the height of the table was perfect for her.

The table has a tablet where you select your dishes/beverages, place your order, and can check out. The four of us ate quite a bit of food. We ordered everything from the vegetable tempura to the 8-piece chu toro. Everything was good. I was slightly disappointed that the chu toro wasn’t as soft as I remembered, whereas the salmon set was so delicious and memorable. The fried chicken was nicely cooked, tender, and crispy. The uni and salmon roe were savory and delicious. For dessert, the black sesame ice cream, azuki beans, and wafer were a nice end to the lunch.

Service was good; they came around often to fill our water. We only called them over for very specific requests.

If I have a special celebration, I definitely would come back. It’s not as good as eating in Japan, but it’s one of the best in Hawaii.

We were immediately greeted upon walking in. We did not have a reservation but were able to be seated as soon as we walked in. Because there were just the 2 of us, we opted for counter seating. The counters were clean and set with a tablet used for ordering and a food conveyor belt directly in front of you.
Ordering food with the tablet was easy and convenient. Food arrived within minutes of ordering. The fish is fresh and the cut proportions are generous. The staff is attentive and polite. We will definitely be going back for more.

If you’ve never been, this is as close to Japan as you can get in the US. Super fresh sushi, melt-in-your-mouth fish, and an authentic, cozy atmosphere. Every dish was top quality and beautifully presented. Friendly service, fair prices, absolutely worth returning again and again. I felt like I was in Japan, even the menu was like higher end Japanese sushi restaurants.

Greeted and seated right away without reservations. The staff from beginning to end were very friendly and helpful.
They have choices of booths and counter style seats. We sat in a booth. We found out they had a lunch special so that’s what we ordered. Hamachi Teishoku set, hamachi jalapeño ponzu, Castella Tamago and Tempura Teishoku.
The food was good quality and delicious! They have stamp cards too so don’t forget to stamp it before you leave!

This was one of the best sushi experiences that I’ve recently had. The quality of fish was incredible and the rice was prepared perfectly. I’ve had a few upscale omakase sushi experiences in the past, but Kaiten Sushi Ginza Onodera was a unique and fun experience.

As other customers have mentioned, the meal is not cheap, but the great thing is that you can pick and choose whatever Sushi you want to eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It’s definitely a restaurant worth returning to.

The venue is clean, chilly (air conditioner is on high) and a bit clinical. I say this because the booths are large with high backs and intercepted by a large wooden wall/shelf (that might later hold a food service bullet train track that I’ve seen in Waikiki and California). Anyway, service is attentive and prompt albeit interpersonal given the tablet ordering system and calling for service vs. having people check-in with you. Onto the food part of the review. We ordered 3 sashimi sets. What I love is being able to customize how much rice (least, please) and soup accompaniment. Eating with the eyes (yes); Quality cuts of fish (yes); Perfect portion size — satiated yet still able to eat a little something more (yes). It was my birthday so they even offered a free dessert. (So sweet ありがとう)The one pet peeve I have to share is that while I usually gravitate to booth seating, I couldn’t help but feel like I was on a slippery slide after 15 minutes (LOL).

First – this is NOT a Kaiten restaurant. Every item here is made to order. You order from and tablet and your food is delivered to you on a conveyor that stops at your table. There are no plates of food just circling around.

Second – this place is pricey. It’s essentially the same food quality and cost as their Kapahulu location. The difference is a la carte vs omakase.

Third – if you want alcohol tell your server and they will unlock that part of the tablet if you are age 21 or older.

All of that said – I love this place for very high quality sushi.

There is parking and it’s easy to get an Uber if you’re not driving.

There’s a wide variety of sushi on the conveyor belt, and most of it was delicious. However, some pieces weren’t very fresh, which was a letdown. For a conveyor belt sushi spot, the prices are definitely on the higher side. It would be much better if they could consistently maintain the freshness and quality of the fish.
