Food, drinks & service were wonderful and met our expectations
The food was very authentic German/Bavarian.
I went for lunch with my family. I had the Jägerschuss (Hunter’s Shot), while my family had the potato pancakes, and the bread pork schnitzel with German potato salad. Plus a freshly baked pretzel.
In my opinion it was a little on the pricey side, especially for lunch, but it was well worth it for the authenticity of the food.
I will definitely be back.
Based on previous reviews and the overall look of things from the internet, I didn’t set a super high bar for the Lucky Frog. It looked sort of authentic, but many places over hype the “authentic” and it’s really just someones interpretation, right?
Today on all counts, this was an “authentic” dining experience. One that actually gave me goosebumps and even got a little emotional once.
Being of German heritage and having been stationed in Germany 1984-1987 in the United States Air Force, obviously, German cuisine is a big deal to me.
The service is personable and friendly. The place is small but roomy. Plenty of brews to choose from. I went with a Paulaner Oktoberfest Draft.
The food is authentic and spot on. I had a pork platter that had roast pork, schnitzel, and a wurst. She had a Hunters Schnitzel (Jaeger style of course). Then we had the Kaiserschmarm for dessert.
Plates were 100% clean when we were done. I was one brain cell away from licking plates here folks.
The emotional part came when the owner, named Simone came out to ask us how our meal was. In German restaurants, I try to remember a bit of the German language and gave my greetings and compliments in native tongue. The brief exchange between us in German brought back so many fond memories of me living in Germany.
Yes, this was an “experience”. And we look forward to coming back often to enjoy those experiences over and over.
Danke Schoen!!!
