I’m so disappointed. Baked chicken was dry and hardened, hush puppies were about the size of my pinky, and didn’t give my sauce that asked for when ordering. I was told it wasn’t good anymore, but I wanted to see for myself. So disappointed.

On the 18th of July around 5pm I went into the Abrams in Ahoskie, NC for dinner and I was blown away! First, the cafeteria style service was EXCELLENT! The woman who took my order was kind, helpful, witty, and super smart!!! Not only is that true, but the cashier was too!!!
So my husband was indisposed and we were in Ahoskie for an MRI at the hospital. Because of this, I had to get our order togo. When I got back to my vehicle, I popped open the plates and I was pleasantly surprised about the freshness, quality, texture and of course taste of each dish!! The seasoning was just right!!! The meal was a close to homemade as you could get!! Simply delicious and the price for three meats and three vegetables was absolutely unbelievable!!! Keep maintaining and raising the culinary standards of today’s “fast food” Abrams of Ahoskie!! You guys have IT!!

Hadn’t been here in years, nothing has changed much. Got two breasts hush puppies and cabbage. One of the breasts was old and dry, the second one was good. The cabbage was just mush, no idea how old it was but it was too overcooked for me.
The hush puppies were sweet like funnel cake almost, and greasy like the oil wasn’t hot enough.
I gave it three stars cause that one breast was good ♂️.
If you like mushy cabbage this is your spot.

Came in after church for lunch with my wife. Hand sanitizer dispenser was empty, no biggie, it happens. Strike 1. Got in line and was thinking of getting a 3 piece dark meal till I saw the lady bring more chicken out. Blood was oozing out of the chicken. Strike 2.
Then decided to just get a catfish meal with black eyed pees and mashed potatoes. When the lady handed me the food I asked her if there was tartar sauce in the bag. She started looking around and couldn’t find any tartar sauce in the restaurant. She said they would t have any till Monday. Strike 3. Sat down to eat hoping the fish wasn’t dry. It was very dry with no flavor. Ended up getting some hot sauce for it. Made it a little better but, should not have served fish without telling customers that there was no tartar sauce.

I have been going to Abrams over the years and have spent lots of money here. Over the last year I felt back because the manager has a serious attitude problem. I went yesterday and purchased a seafood platter with chocolate cake. Cost me $24+. I was asked to park while they cooked my food. The manager brings my food out and I only have fish and shrimp no sides or bread and no cake. I called to let them know my order is messed up. No one answers so I go back thru drive thru and was met with here’s your cake. I said where is the rest of my food. The cashier tells the manager(Cathy) what she had done. They gives me the rest of what I ordered. No apologies or anything. So I said something. The cashier get an attitude because I ask for an apology. The manager standing right there didnt say a word just mumbles under her breath to the cashier and chuckles. I’M DONE WITH ABRAMS AND THAT RUDE MANAGER!

Food does not taste good and looks old. Just about everything is cold as well. Water dripping from the ceiling, salt and pepper shaker were stopped up from being wet, booths and tables are dirty. I’m not sure how this place even achieved a 93 as a sanitation score!

The inside isn’t the cleanest. The staff are very friendly. There are meat options that weren’t available because their grill was down. I ordered the chicken, which didn’t look appetizing, but was actually really good. For sides I got mac n cheese and string beans (I think). The hushpuppies they give you with your order are delicious. The sides weren’t good. Especially the mac n cheese. It was watery and mushy. I mentioned this as the server placed it in my container. He said it looked that way because of all of the cheese used. Nope. It was disgusting.

Didn’t stay and eat. When we walked in we say the it was a walk through type place. Was expecting a sit down type. The food smelled good. It was clean and orderly. But we just didn’t want to go through a line.

I am new to the area and have been trying out all the food lol. I love the barbecue…do yourself a favor and don’t forget to make sure you get the little vinegar based sauce that the Guy there makes homemade. It’s the perfect balance of acid, sweet and hot.
