If I could give zero stars, I would the chicken they gave me was undercooked. I ordered a strawberry pie. It was marked down a strawberry, but it was apple. I ordered mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. I received red beans and rice and overcooked mac & cheese experience zero out of 10 would not recommend.

The employees are more worried about their personal lives to maintain a clean and food safe environment. I have personally witnessed employees scratch burnt Mac and cheese of the bins and mix it in. Drop cups and lids on the floor and place them on the counters instead of throwing them away. Half the employees looks drugged out of their minds and have the attitude to match INCLUDING Management!!!! Chicken tastes like it’s old cooked in oil from the 80s!

I don’t know what’s going on at the Popeyes in Athens, Alabama, but this was hands-down one of the worst deliveries I’ve ever received. We avoided this place for years hoping maybe—just maybe—they’d finally get it together. Nope. It still sucks.
The food showed up old, cold, and just straight-up disgusting. It tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp since yesterday. The chicken? Dry, hard, and barely warm. The sides? Mushy or crusted over like they’d been reheated three times. It was honestly inedible.
The only things that were remotely enjoyable were the biscuits and the apple pies—and let’s be real, those taste the same everywhere. That was the only saving grace of this entire order, and even then, it doesn’t make up for how awful the rest of the meal was.
If you’re thinking about giving this place another shot after avoiding it for a while, don’t bother. Save your money, your stomach, and your mood. Popeyes of Athens needs a complete overhaul because at this point, it’s just embarrassing.

Have gone to this Popeyes 3 times.
1. The first time My drink was half full, I asked if they could fill it to the top. Also they barely gave us fries plus they were cold, I asked if we could get more fries and the lady said that’s how much they serve I said it’s basically none, and she was like well we have to make more so you’ll have to wait. So clearly they didn’t have any ready and that’s why they gave me the last few, but gave the excuse that that’s how much they serve instead of just asking us to wait for fresh fries in the first place.
2. Second time, Food was cold and seemed to have been fried twice. The meat seems like it was sitting there since the night before. Threw all the food away, it was just completely cold and greasy.
3. Third time I didn’t even finish ordering because they had no fries. Who goes to Popeyes and doesn’t order fries? That’s inventory you need to stay on top of.
This location needs to get it together. It’s the only one close to Athens and right now it sucks.

By far the worst Popeyes. I bite into a piece of chicken and it smelled like death. The chicken is never hot nor is it ever crispy. The skin is always oily and soft. The biscuits are never hot buttery and soft. They are hard and dry. I now drive from Athens to the Popeyes in Madison on Hwy 72 down by the Car Dealerships. And if I get chicken in Athens now. I got to the daily at Hometown Grocery Store.

I LOVETHAT CHICKEN FROM POPEYES ! Its a shame that they are deceitful about quality! I never leave reviews good or bad . This just struck a nerve, he knew that wasn’t the right chicken ! He even looked back to see if I was watching ! Do better next time the Lord is always watching ,young man !

Arrived about 1:15 pm. Many people waiting for their orders. Finally able to order, had to repeat the order multiple times. When I received my receipt, the order was incorrect. Finally got the attention of the young man working the counter, advised him the order was wrong. He did not seem to understand and went back to pulling orders. Finally got the manager to fix my order. When it was pulled and given to us it was still incorrect. Apparently, he does not understand what part of the chicken is white meat and what part is dark meat. There was a gentleman still waiting for his order that had been there when we came in-not a pleasant dining experience.

Unfortunately, I must revoke my 5-star review. Ordered online (it worked this time), but got home to find missing sauces, and two of my tenders were pasty, with UNDERCOOKED chicken. Are you kidding me? It seems like nothing but problems with this place.

My food was old and also I had hair in my food. I live about 30 mins away so I did not return. I had a 5 piece tender meal and 12 ghost pepper wings. That was a bad experience for me.
