Definitely the best BBQ in the area
Burger was great & sweet potato tots were phenomenal
Briskets was a bit plain but the Carolina BBQ sauce was so good we didn’t try any others.

Nothing special. We had the pulled pork sandwich and a side of sweet potato tots. A lot of food, but not particularly flavorful and the tots were pretty charred. We loaded up on the Carolina mustard sauce which helped, but again the service was lack luster and the food was nothing to write home about sadly.

The ribs were terrible and we found a hair in the potatoes. The prices on the website do not reflect the actual prices. My bill was substantially higher than expected for take out.

This Q snob from Texas can only say “hats off!” to the Old Armory !
Modest space in a strip center, but the food is outstanding!
Giant portions! Amazing sauce array…even the blueberry was good, but the Carolina and chipotle were more to my taste.
Ribs were super tender, big portion, and excellent rub/bark! Mac n cheese is a must!
Only suggestion would be a multi-meat platter to try smaller amounts of several items. Very reasonable prices for the quality and quantity!
Kudos!!!

We drove here to check out this BBQ hot spot due to the online reviews! Brisket is always a must, so let’s go!
A platter of brisket, green beans and “seasonal vegetables” arrived in under 5 min, so kudos to the kitchen. As for the food, the brisket was meh. It was juicy, but not savory…falling short for any WOW factor. The corn muffin was cold and sticky, as if it was either frozen and quick-thawed or not quite cooked all of the way. The green beans were absolutely delicious, but the seasonal vegetables consisted of frozen carrots and (what tasted like) left-over broccoli reheated. Will not stop again.

If you like bbq you’ll like this place. We had a platter with two sides, each, which was way too much food. Next time we’ll order one and share.
Only serve soft drinks but you can take your food and enjoy a good beer across the street at Pulpit Rock brewery.

Had the brisket with smoked baked beans and mac & cheese. All three were tremendous! The whole universe and then some are afraid of dry brisket. This was not! You are completely safe ordering the brisket because it was very moist… and therfore, very good. Service was great, very prompt with the food and clean. Men’s bathroom was very clean. That’s always a sign of someone who takes pride in the store. This is a great BBQ restaurant. You should come. I highly recommend it.

Outstanding bbq. Brisket and pulled pork are fantastic. The green beans are awesome. This place has become a regular stop when in the area.

Neat little place. The inside isn’t that big, but there is some outside seating.
I would give the food 5 stars but the brisket I got was fairly dry, had to put a lot of sauce on it. I tried it without any sauce at first and it did have a good flavor, just dry. And fairly priced as well, only cost me about $23 after tax.

The sauces they have were all fantastic as well. I especially like tangy BBQ sauce, and the Carolina mustard base as well as the Memphis tangy were the best.

The sides were excellent though! Those smoked baked beans were the BEST! I could’ve easily eaten 2lbs of those alone for my meal! The mixed veggies were good as well. I really like brussel sprouts so having a good size portion was great.

I would definitely come back here next time I’m in town.

The food is awesome! My husband ordered the brisket platter ($22) with mac & cheese, coleslaw, and corn muffin. It was a huge amount of food. I ordered potato wedges and sweet pepper slaw, $3.50 each. We also ordered the apple pie ($4), which was served hot, with caramel drizzle and whipped cream. The mac had a slight smokey flavor that my husband enjoyed. He tried all 5 of the bbq sauces and liked the Chipotle the most. We both agreed that the corn muffin and apple pie were the best of each that we ever had at a restaurant. We will definitely be spreading the word in Minnesota how great this food is! We will be back!
