We drove quite a ways to get here, as this is one of the only Long John Silver restaurants in the chicago land area. Keep in mind that it is combined with a KFC, so you get KFC sides as opposed to traditional LJS sides. We came here during lent for the fish and shrimp.
It took quite awhile just to take our order, it seemed like there were plenty of people behind the counter, but maybe the drive thru was busy or they were short staffed. After we ordered the food, it came out relatively quickly.
We both had a version of fish and shrimp with fries and coleslaw, mine came with hushpuppies. My shrimp was delicious and so was the fish. My wife’s fish however was a lot of batter and somewhat overdone. The sides were good.
As a child, my mom would take us to Long John Silver at least once during lent for the fish, so this meal for me struck the right note to satisfy my nostalgia. Not so much for my wife.

We were excited to get some LJS after many years. Its definitely like how I remembered and its very tasty for what it is…you generally know what yo expect, and they deliver on those expectations. The restaurant was clean and the service was acceptable. I would come back to scratch that LJS itch.

There is no notice telling you that interior restaurant and office are closed; so there are very long lines in the Drive-Thru. If you pull up to go to the drive-thru and then change your mind because it’s taking a long time, don’t leave the line because you can’t get inside. There are no other choices. You’ll lose your place and then you’ll have to start all over again and the lines are very slow.

I mean it’s fast food but it’s always fresh and tasty. I’ve never encountered bad service there. In fact, the opposite. Employees are friendly, efficient and go the extra mile. Convenient drive thru as well. Long John Silvers fish is actually delicious and the sides are from the KFC menu.

I really was hoping to get more of a Long John silver’s experience instead it felt like I was just walking into a KFC and I got more of a KFC experience. The first round of food I got wasn’t all that fresh so they did make me more food and it looked the same but at least it was hotter this time.

Wow, didn’t know they still exist! I had to try a combo asap. All that grease and oil, you feel like every delicious bite is taking years off of your life!
It was good, but way too greasy. No way you can eat this daily and live past 40.

We live in aurora and went to darien to Find a long john silvers. There’s not too many around. The food was excellent it was clean. You can tell when they further fish they use clean oil. The cashier cooper was very kind and knowledgeable. We truly will make the drive again to eat.They’re wonderful food.

Update 10/25 Got the fish and shrimp combo box. The fish and shrimp was good but too much salt in the batter. Go easy on the salt.

Has been a longtime fan of Long John Silvers and wanted to treat myself. Well the prices, and most importantly the quality of the food was below expectations. I bought 2 family meals and 4 orders of Shrimp. The Shrimp was fried too hard along with the chicken and fish dripping with oil from the fryer. I paid over $50 and this was definitely not work it. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to go there unless you were buying a lemonade drink to go.
