Del lago is in the famous Broadmoor hotel at the base of the mountains in Colorado Springs. If im going to go there i always eat at tistorante del lago if I want true northern Italian fare; if I can get in. The kids are happy because they can get pizza but its the “grown up” Italian pasta, seafood and meatballs that are what make it special. The ambiance is unbeatable. I only gave 4 stars because my swordfish came out “dry” but once I dipped it in my wife’s shrimp pasta sauce it was delectable. I highly recommend the meatballs, any pasta dish of your taste, especially any shrimp pasta. The bread that came out before the meal was served with some of the best olive oil I’ve had in the US. It took two hands to pull it apart.

Stopped here on a lark without a reservation and everything because that’s how we roll. In this case, there should be more than five stars allowed for Service. Our server, Brian, was so extra. Everything was flawless beyond description. We came here at 4 o’clock, but had to wait until five for the dinner entrées we wanted. Plan B was a glass of wine and some cheese /marcona almonds appetizers to kill 45 minutes.Omg. Do this on purpose next time? Ask for Brian and drink whatever he pours. He has the absolute best recommendations. For dinner, I had the Delicata squash ravioli. Hubs had the carbonara pasta and we argued over who won.
We were waaaaaaaay too full for dessert, but left Fat and happy. Thank you for a truly wonderful experience.

My husband and I had a wonderful night celebrating our anniversary. They were very accommodating and friendly. We got the chef’s selection family style which included multiple courses. They spaced the course evenly and we didn’t feel rushed at all. We can’t wait to go back and try out more things on the menu.

Strongly recommend coming to eat here! We celebrated our Honeymoon at The Broadmoor and this was our favorite restaurant that we ate at. Our server Megan was so sweet and knowledgeable, she gave great recommendations for our meal from start to finish. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great.

What a treat it was to have dinner at Ristorante Del Lago! We did not have reservations, but were seated right away on Thursday evening. Not only was it a beautiful restaurant, the food was sensational. I highly recommend the squash ravioli, but save room for dessert because the tiramisu is also amazing. When my friend dropped something, a wait staff immediately picked it up and handed it to my friend which was very thoughtful. If you have the opportunity to dine at the Broadmoor, I highly recommend coming here.

went here with my boyfriend for our 1 year anniversary, and it was fantastic! i don’t quite remember our waitress’s name, but she was so kind and took great care of us. we got complimentary dessert and coffee for our anniversary, and the staff congratulated us when interacting with us. the food was fantastic, i highly recommend the squash ravioli, and most options on the menu have the choice to add additional protein, which was great. we got a cheese sampler as an appetizer and the chef did a great job of choosing a good assortment of cheese with a variety of textures and wonderful flavors. the dress code is resort casual, but we saw a variety of dressy outfits. it’s more fun to get really fancy anyway, so definitely do that if you go! after dinner, taking a walk around the lake and checking out the broadmoor is a good idea.

Highlights were service, drinks and ambiance. My critiques are that the margarita pizza was undercooked. No crispness to it, and it lacked flavor. It’s rare to have a bad pizza anywhere so I was very surprised. Also, I wished the entree pasta portion sizes were a bit larger. For Italian food you expect big portions. A highlight was the bar. The cocktails were delicious albeit expensive at $30 after tax and tip.

The Broadmoor management evidently labeled me a “complaining guest” after my Google maps review of breakfast at The Lake Terrace. For no good reason the manager at del Lago comped my glass of Taurasi.

This is a pleasantly fitted dining room with a lovely view over The Broadmoor’s own lake. In my opinion it is a business mistake not to offer breakfast and lunch here, when the view could be monetized more.

However, as with the Lake Terrace, there is something amiss in the F&B department. I ordered campanelle carbonara. “Campanelle” should be a delicate bell-shape. What I got was hard lumps of solid pasta more or less the shape and thickness of a .45 caliber bullet (in varying lengths), which no sauce was going to penetrate. Aware that I had probably used up my goodwill over my complaint regarding poached eggs at The Lake Terrace, I just ate it without comment.

Eat at this restaurant for the view and the pleasant decor, and you’re probably safe with pizza and spaghetti.

I am disappointed at The Broadmoor and the quality of the food offered at a their version of an Authentic Italian restaurant. The food is highly overpriced for the lack of quality and flavor I would expect from Italians. This food taste lacks flavor, the ‘drip’, and Italian herbs and spices I would expect. The olive oil for the dipping bread was authentic oil. The bread was fresh and soft and I loved it. I would not recommend this restaurant as you are paying for the name and not the quality of the food.

We have come here a few times to enjoy cocktails but it was our first time having a full dinner experience to celebrate our anniversary and wow – the food and service were phenomenal! The ravioli, sweet corn, and shrimp special was top tier along with the balsamic beet salad. Our server Haley was incredibly professional and had fantastic recommendations for our night – appetizers, entrees, desserts, wine pairings and all! She mentioned she was new to this restaurant but it seems like she has been there for years. We will certainly be back! Thanks for a memorable night!
