I stopped in for the Roc The Mic pizza and really enjoyed it. The cook, an older gentleman, was very nice and was the one that gave me the recommendation. The sweet sauce was fire, and those crispy edges were exactly what I look for in a good pie. The crust and bottom were buttery, cheesy, and had a great bite without ever feeling dry.
At $25, it’s definitely on the higher end for a smaller personal pizza, but I’d spend it again without hesitation because of how good it was. The beef pepperoni was a solid touch, though I think a little hot honey or more spice would’ve taken it to the next level for me.
Overall, a solid spot around the way . I’ll be back.

Saw this pizza spot on YouTube and had to try it! Pizza was great! We got the “Break You Off” pizza. It was loaded with lamb and baked goods perfection. The crust was nice and crunchy, the pizza was nice and chewy. Not too chewy…I had the perfect bite. The wings were solid too. Will definitely return when I am in the area.

Uptown vibes vegan pizza was good,
The crust was square deep dish chicago style, very good sauce. tons of cheese didn’t really taste the kale nevertheless, spot on! little on the expensive side.
Thai cauliflower wings , perfectly done, tender on the inside crispy tempura batter on the outside very good sauce
Spicy crab fries need work no crab flavor, kale was there but lacking flavor, plenty of cheese on fries, cheese was cold and the fries were little bit dry and cold.
The Fries are overpriced, thicker cut fries would be better.
The blueberry lemonade and a cucumber, mint lemonade a perfect combo with the pizza
This is a very nice place for takeout. The decor is right on with the whole mission. I read a chapter of the book while I was there Muhammad is inspiring.
I think it’s admirable the way they give back to the community. Hope that they will get some sit down seating in the future currently it has barstool and counter seating, would love to see some outdoor seating. Overall a nice experience, reason for four star atmosphere was a little bit loud hard to talk to my friend.
And as far as the food goes a little bit pricey overall, that’s just a personal opinion if it works for them that’s all that matters definitely will be back.

Great pizza spot in North Philly. Was on my list for awhile and finally picked up a few pies.
All Detroit style pizzas. The regular one was good but the Break You Off was excellent. Great combination of flavors; the honey drizzle and lemon balanced well off the lamb sausage.

After experiencing one of the We The Pizza book tour events and tasting the pizza samples I knew ordering a pizza was needed ASAP. Definitely a “premium product”. I got half cheese half veggie pizza, cauliflower bites & fries. Everything was delicious!!

It was Pi-Day (3.14) so I had to go see what Down North Pizza had for me. A lamb sausage w/ lemon ricotta, za’tar, and a garlic honey drizzle. I don’t even eat meat on a regular, but this just sounded too good to pass up.
It was yummy!
I ordered online for pickup and received text updates on my order. Best part the order was done when it was estimated to be ready.

There should be good amount of parking but be leary of parking on the side streets. The food is good. The uptown vibes pizza was delicious and the breaking you off pizza was very unique. I never had honey on a pizza before. It definitely gave Mediterranean vibes.
The customer service was A1! Those gentlemen greeted my wife and I with enthusiasm. We also had a good conversation while we waited. I’m teetering between 4-5 stars because it is expensive for the size although it is a detroit style so it’s thicker. For 2 pizzas and 2 order of wings I was north $70. With That I will probably do it again. Gotta try more flavors.

Haven’t had pizza this good in a while. They serve Detroit style pizza with a thicker, burnt crust which we really liked. We got the I’m a boss which was delicious and heavy with toppings. Pizza literally weighed around 5 lb.
We also got Spicy Crab Fries for appetizers which were amazing and had us craving more. The Apple pie Milkshake was probably one of the best milkshakes I have tried. The flavors were perfectly balanced and weren’t too sweet. We can’t wait to come back and try more from their menu.

We were craving Detroit pizza just as Down North was featured on the Eater channel on YouTube. The pizza looked so good that we soon found ourselves driving up Ridge avenue to give it a try! We got the Rock the Mic and Uptown Vibes pies and both were incredible. The crust was crispy on the bottom and soft & buttery on the inside, and the sauce was the perfect combination of salty and sweet. Each slice is a hefty portion since it’s Detroit style. We will be back again soon!
