All of our serving staff were so lovely! The food was amazing! One of the best steaks and salads I’ve had in a restaurant. Presentation of the food was very good, and everything tasted amazing! So much flavour and seasoning, even the chefs made an effort to say hello when passing.
Thank you so much Victor for making my birthday lunch extra special! See you all very soon! X
However, it took around 20 minutes before anyone came over to take our order, and then a further 45 minutes for the food to arrive — and it was only a simple breakfast with no modifications. By the time it came, the food was tepid and missing a couple of items. The server did come over to apologise and said we didn’t need to worry about the one-hour timeframe anymore (which felt a bit obvious given the delays), but by that point we were already over it.
It was clear the staff were frustrated with long kitchen wait times too, so we didn’t complain, but it definitely affected the experience. Such a shame, as we’re locals and had hoped it would be great — and plenty of people seem to love the place. Maybe we just caught them at a bad time, but sadly we won’t be rushing back. This was a visit on a Sunday around 11am.
We ordered a full English breakfast and eggs royale with English breakfast tea from a very friendly member of staff. After a short while our plates of food arrived, all very well presented and were indeed extremely delicious. Even after eating these plates of food we managed to find room to order the French toast with fruit and the pancakes with fruit and maple syrup which were also very good.
We enjoyed our visit very much and will definitely visit again.
A great asset to Ely.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and your staff were attentive, polite, and genuinely friendly. It truly made our dining experience memorable.
Thank you once again for such a delightful meal — we will definitely be coming back and recommending your restaurant to our friends and family!
The issue is the length of time it takes to get the food to your table. We were offered a couple of coffees on the house, and though appreciated, it was exactly the same in March. Overall it was over two hours from our order to settling up.
I really want this place to be a success as it is unique in Ely. I believe that the kitchen is quite small and certainly creates a bottleneck.
That said, I am not sure we’ll make a third visit, which is a shame.
