My buddies and I are from the South Korea Navy, and we were in San Diego for helicopter technician training.
We really wanted to experience American diner culture, and there was an awesome local diner near our place.
We went there three times.
The friendly staff pouring coffee, the delicious pancakes, hash browns, and fried eggs…
I still can’t forget them.
Do you remember me?
The stylish South Korea Navy guy who had his last Sunday breakfast before going back to Korea
and gave you Korean cash as a small gift
Staff are friendly, fun, and quick with refills and check ins.
Food is tasty, cooked to order (you want extra crisp, they give you extra crispy), and good portions to fill you up.
They have free parking, it’s a small lot however there are a few street parking spots available too.
The environment: the inside is very old. It reminded me of being in a restaurant in the early 90’s. Nothing is really updated but I guess it gives you that home feeling. It’s a nice small size. I didn’t eat inside so that’s all I can say about the inside.
The outside seating is nice. This restaurant is off of a Main Street (university) so you see a lot of cars driving by. I enjoyed eating outside with my daughter.
Prices: the kids meal is around $5-$7 and for adults $10-$12 for a basic breakfast.
Parking: parking isn’t the best. If the restaurant is fully seated let’s just say there is not enough parking for everyone at once. I would say the food is worth the parking hassle.
Can’t wait to back and try more items the country fired steak was perfect not over crunchy or under cooked and the pancakes awesomeness.
