The bar has a great atmosphere, but we have ordered take out at the bar twice and both have been disappointing. Both time we ordered chow mein and the food consisted largely of onions and celery (no noodles). The first time we thought it was a bad day, however on the second order we found the chow mein consistent. We also found the chow suey was exactly the same. The photo shows both the chop suey and chow mein boxes.

I have not had Wah Kue’s in a long time and thought I would try it. We would go here all the time when I was a kid and even when I was an adult. However the food quality and taste has definitely changed. Our food was all dried out and quite frankly not very good. We got almond fried chicken which the chicken was so hard that it was not edible the sweet and sour chicken was dried out and very hard to eat the chow main noodles were so thin I could not believe that is what we got. The pork fried rice with bean sprouts was the only thing we kind of enjoyed. For the price which we spent about $80 was a joke. I will never go to this restaurant again. I thought we would give it a try but we were so disappointed most of the food went into the garbage. I am not sure why it doesnt taste the same and definitely would recommend that this is not worth the price. I have no problem spending this amount of money if the food quality is good but I was surprisingly disappointed

I used to go here with my ex husband all the time. We loved it. The food was so good. I’m in Spokane now but I really wish I could order food from here. Brings back good memories

First time eating here. We had the meal B on the back of the menu. I had the almond chicken and my husband had the broccoli beef. If I could have given the food a 0 star I would have. My almond chicken came like flattened out in two thin long strips with batter and covered in a sauce. I have never seen it prepared this way before. I am uses to small chunks of chicken, nuts, and vegetables. I tried the sauce, I cannot describe the taste but I did not like it. Same thing when I tried it no breading or sauce. I honestly could only choke back the one bite of each. The fried rice that came on the plate was so dry it and had a hard time eating that as well. My husband liked the broccoli that came in his beef, but honestly had to run to the bathroom twice because the food made him sick. He did like the noodle soup and the wontons though. At the end we just asked them to package up the rest. We felt bad we really didn’t like it, but with our bill being $72, maybe we can find a homeless person to give it to, who knows, they might like it…but it definitely was not for us.
Staff was nice though.

My boyfriend and I went there early fir new years eve dinner. We like to sit in the bar. So pleasant and Charlotte our server was very friendly.
We shared a combination dinner . Very good food. I noticed our bill seemed higher for combination dinner and plus a nice gentleman had bought my partner and I a drink.
I.asked Charlotte about it and instantly her demeanor changed from pleasant to
Confrontational. She rolled her eyes at me and she seemed insulted because I had asked about extra charges. Which by the way she had not explained when we ordered.
I feel sorry if that is how she chooses to
Go through life but from now on if we go to wa kues and she is waitressing we will not go in.

The mandarin orange chicken is really good. The wanton soup was pretty flavorless, and the almond chicken was alright, but could have used more sauce and peanut topping and less lettuce under it .. preferably none. The fried rice is dry and also without much flavor. It is nice that they include tea with the meal. You’ll just have to ask at least three times for it, if you can catch a waiter. We had to chase one down a few times as it appeared they forgot we were there. The inside of the restaurant is beautiful, but extremely quiet. An uncomfortable silence that leaves you very aware of the sound of your own chewing.

OMG! My first time at this place and it reminded me of back home in Virginia! I loved the pork fried rice! And of course everything else my hubby suggested. I just wouldn’t want to order from anywhere else now. Wonderful, friendly staff! Very accommodating! I just love this place. And it’s right up the road!

I’ve been coming to Wah Kue for 50 years, I quit when new owners took over, food was bad. But these new owners have the food back to the way it used to be. Love the chow main and everything else. Missed this for a long time, glad they restored it.

Have had this place once or twice but this will be the last time. Got the chefs special chow mein and it was a gelatinous mess. Inedible. The fried rice was fine but the chow mein was so bad we wasted over $20.
