Social Profile:

In 2006, Judy Hurlburt became co-owner of the landmark establishment. For six years she listened and took note as happy customers asked – even begged – her to consider bottling the Depot’s Garbage Wings® sauce for sale. When she became full owner in 2012, one of Judy’s first decisions was to do exactly that. Teaming with local entrepreneur and owner of the nationally renowned Brook’s Barbecue, Ryan Brooks, she began the process of bottling and marketing the Depot’s wildly popular wings sauce. Be sure to check out our recipes and join the growing legion of Garbage Wings® chefs. And, if you should ever find yourself in Oneonta, make sure to visit The Depot Restaurant and say Hi to Judy. She’d love to see you.

Andrew was an OUTSTANDING server. Friendly, complement, and helpful. Ask for him! Food was great. Atmosphere great. And it was cozy and warm inside. Had the trainwreck burger—delicious! The person I dined with had pasta with clams (white sauce) and said it was great.

Food was great and service was even better. I had the chicken parm sandwich which was amazing the wing are great as well. I am usually a buffalo sauce man, but tried the garbage sauce and I was good as well. Really a down to earth place to eat. Would definitely recommend.

Food is always good here. Can be busy but they do a good job at getting to everyone in a timely manner. Wings are some of the best in Oneonta!

Went for lunch and love the fact that this was a train station. Very popular place and the staff are very attentive. Wife had the Cesar salad with grilled chicken and liked it. Greens looked fresh. The boy had the soup and the garbage wrap and liked it. I had the Rueben of course and would not recommend it as way too much butter was on the bread and just wasn’t good. I ordered the sweet potato tots and they should have been fried another minute and would have been nice and crispy. Of course on my way out I see they are know for burgers. I would try again and get a burger. Service was great. My biggest complaint was that they really need to clean the cobwebs. Cleanliness is important.

Legitimately the BEST wings I have ever had in my entire life. Bursting with flavor. My family and I got takeout from here for the first time and overall 100/10. It was delicious. It must be even better to dine in. I got a patty melt which was also absolutely delicious. The patty itself was huge. But my favorite was definitely the wings. They are what dreams are made of for real. I’m not a wing person but I could live off these and be happy.

This place was excellent! An old train depot remade into a nice place to stop and eat as we were passing through town. We knew it was going to be good when we saw men wearing hi-vis leaving with smiles on their faces when we arrived. Inside we found a wonderful antique/industrial style decor as befitting Oneonta’s rich history, hostess seating tables and a seat yourself bar. We were just after the lunch hour and the place was about a quarter full, we had no waiting for service. We got a couple burgers, which were VERY good. They did take a full 25 minutes to arrive after ordering though, however, the phone was ringing off the hook with to go orders the entire time we were there. This place is obviously quite popular. One note, the other person in my party ordered Captain & Coke and they don’t carry Captain, they only carry Sailor Jerry for spiced rum and it wasn’t their favorite thing ever. I didn’t feel this was worth reducing a star over, as that’s a higher shelf spiced rum anyway.

This place was recommended to us by a couple of families so we decided to stop by to check it out. It was an old Depot to a train station (hence the name) tucked away from the main town. You can tell this is where the locals come.

If you’re looking for a fancy place looks elsewhere, this place is no frills. However what they lack in decor they make up in food. Most of our dishes were quiet good, with the exception of the salad which had a very chewy chicken to it. Fried calamari was excellent probably because it was extra fried (same with the fries). I had a wrap and the kids had grilled cheese and chicken tenders.

Again the only knock was the weird tasting chicken on the salad but other than that a solid choice.

Food was very good and service was fantastic. I do feel the portions were small for the price. Otherwise great place!

My family and I went out to dinner here. There were 4 of us, and we made a reservation for 7:30. We arrived at 7, and were immediately seated. We were pleasantly surprised.

We ordered our meals and an appetizer. We waited around 30 minutes. And no appetizer and no salads came out that came with our meal. Finally, our waiter came around with the loaded potato skins. We waited another hour for our meals to come out and we had to remind the waiter our meals came with salads. I asked for another beer and it tasted off? Almost like a chemical taste. I decided to not drink the rest of my drink.

Overall, the food was great. No complaints there. Perhaps there’s a lack of servers and they’re stretched too thin? We saw other tables looking around for their food / waiter.
