Heard about this place all the way from North Carolina, so while I was in town, I had to stop by. Super friendly and welcoming staff as soon as you walk in the door. Hockey and football on the TVs either way you look. Beer was cold, and food was fresh and hot. Jayne was my waitress and she had me covered on anything I needed. Nate prepared my bbq wings and ribs and of course with the house ranch. Absolute perfection. If you’re in the Wellington or Boca areas, definitely got to check this place out.

I’ve been going to Mississippi for over 20 years, since I was a kid. The best wings ever! That’s all I ever order because I love them so much. The stew and cornbread is quite good too.

Mississippi Sweets is a true gem. I’ve been coming here for over 12 years, and it’s just as incredible now as it was back then. Their baby back ribs are easily the best in the county- tender, smoky, and perfectly glazed. Everything is consistently fresh. Generous portions, excellent prices, and that authentic Southern BBQ soul. It’s really good to be back in the area.

I’d eat their ribs over mission bbq any day. I’ve gone to Mississippi sweets for years now. I made the mistake of picking up ribs from mission bbq out of pure convenience and to try it for the first time. I’ll say never again lol I’ll stick to Mississippi sweets every time! It was my fault for not being as loyal as I usually am. So if you’re wondering which one is better, I promise they have them beat

So, I treated my mother and wife out for some BBQ. We saw Misissippi BBQ on Google Maps and said, “Let’s try something different.” The place was clean but small. It appears to be more of a takeout place rather than a dine in restaurant. We were a bit disappointed with the selection. Most of their menu was pulled pork shredded beef ribs and chicken. They did not have any smoked meats you might expect from a BBQ place like brisket. Their sides were also pretty limited to curly fries or sheet potato chips. I ended up picking the 1/2 BBQ chicken with the sweet potato chips. I will be honest I was a bit underwhelmed with what we got vs. the price. The chicken was overcooked and dry to the point that the BBQ sauce couldn’t really help. The sweet potato chips were way too over salted. I could feel my blood pressure rise with each bite.

When we arrived there were only two occupied tables. When our waitress came over she wasn’t the friendliest, took our drink and appetizer order. Drinks took a few minutes, and the appitizer took about 30 minutes. Kitchen staff moving like snails.. very rude and speaking loud enough for us to hear using obscene language and we were sitting with our 7 yr old. Waitress never gave an update on why the food was taking so long. When our meal was finally served, this was about 45 minutes after we ordered, we were terribly disappointed. Meats had absolutely no flavor at all, chicken and ribs were completely tasteless. My husband ordered the pork and beef platter, the beef was soggy and just smothered in BBQ sauce and also tasted terrible. The baked beans tasted like it was canned. The wings were good.
