One of my favorite places I ate during my weekend stay in Port Townsend! This was a great date night dinner spot. I’d say a little more on the fancier side of cuisine, but SO GOOD. I recommend making reservations as even during the winter (non peak visitor season) it was packed and all they had was bar seating (3 seats at the bar total). It’s a smaller restaurant as well, which is another reason to make a resy. Food was SO delicious. Highly recommend the roasted garlic appetizer (it was our favorite).

We had a wonderful experience here! Our server, Makenzie, was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and incredibly professional. Even though it was early in the evening, the restaurant was very busy, and she handled everything with ease. She kept up with all of her tables, answered phone calls, and was genuinely kind and patient with everyone she interacted with.
The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot for a relaxed night out. The food was excellent from start to finish. The stuffed mushrooms were a standout, and the bread with herb-infused butter was absolutely delicious.
We also really enjoyed the seafood Alfredo, Lemon Amore, and mushroom risotto—all were flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented.
Overall, great food, exceptional service, and a really lovely atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back and would highly recommend this restaurant.

I had the Lemon Amore and the Key Lime Pie, but the Tiramisu was the real star — absolutely off the chain good! Cameron, our waiter, was super nice and professional, and he was so on point he didn’t even need to write down our orders. Everything came out perfect. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming, and the desserts were worth every bite. Highly recommend Fountain Cafe if you’re in Port Townsend and want something delicious!

A pure oasis in Point Townsend. Historic building, comfortable, period appropriate furnishings, soft lighting and a dedicated, professional waitstaff makes Fountain Cafe simply delectable. The menu has some Italian leanings, but don’t let that dissuade you, as the menu is amazing and varied. The culinary musings are a mix of traditional, and slightly avant garde, adding a depth and simplicity of flavor you might not have imagined. The chefs touch is a deft one, happily surprising. From appetizer, to salad, to main course, there was an inspired elevation in preparation and execution, that deviated from what you thought you might taste, to a fully engaging mouthful of just wow. To say we were pleased, is an understatement, we were humbled and grateful. It’s a small intimate space, so make reservations, but if not, they do accept walk-ins if a table is available.

The Fountain Cafe in Port Townsend is a cozy, welcoming spot with awesome food.
My husband suggested we try it for our anniversary, and we had a great time. I had the pork chops that were on special for the day, and my husband went for the Chicken Marsala—both were amazing. Cameron, our server, was super helpful in picking our dishes.
The cafe is small, but it didn’t feel cramped at all. Whether you’re in the mood for a casual brunch or a laid-back meal, it’s definitely worth checking out.

It’s been ten years since the last time I’d been here but it was just as good as I remembered. Really tasty food, large portions and selection. Great atmosphere, quiet, relaxed, and comfortable but still nice and upscale for a special occasion. Our server was lovely and great at her job.

We had a wonderful lunch at fountain cafe. The suggestions were fantastic and accurate. The baked Brie was amazing. For main course, we ordered a sesame salmon salad, and crab cakes both of which were really good. Portion size of salmon was right for me (was debating between that and miso salmon which is a larger portion). For dessert, we had the seasonal cranberry bread pudding which was perfectly balanced with burst of fresh cranberries.

Fantastic food and service, as always! Definitely a nice treat for the hub and I. We did not have a reservation but were able to sit at the counter which was fun in its own water. We Loved the herb butter and delicious bread starter. The salmon special was phenomenal, such wonderful flavor, although I made a mistake in switching the potatoes out for the coconut curry risotto which was too sweet for the salmon. The grilled asparagus was divine. The hub had the beef stroganoff pasta with horseradish sour cream sauce and loved it. Great tiny foodie restaurant that was filled at 5pm with happy diners. Pleasing artwork on the walls and decor. Highly recommend!

Cozy cafe with flavorful dishes. We recommend that roasted garlic, bruchetta, and brie appetizer. The brief is perfectly creamy and spreadable. The crab cakes have a good amount of crab and not too much fillers. The Scotch fettuccine with Scotch and smoked salmon has a smooth cream sauce and plenty of smoked salmon. It is a little on the salty side, and I liked it nonetheless. The Bailey’s Irish Creme Brulee? Fantastic!
Strive is very friendly and you can tell that they like their customers.
