My order is constantly messed up. I’m pregnant. There is limited things I can eat without feeling nauseous. I come to this McDonalds for my lunch break during work because it’s relatively close. However, I am not on a paid break so I don’t have time to be coming back to have my order fixed. Look at these nuggets and my burger is all wrong. As u can see it doesn’t match my receipt customizations.

Someone thought that it was okay to make a large smoothie with a large portion missing. If I wanted smaller size I would’ve ordered it. No one appreciates shrinkflation when prices are increasing. Also I’m not sure why this locations mango pineapple smoothie is so bitter. I understand it has pineapple and the enzymes can make it a little sour, but their mango pineapple has been like this for a while. I’ve been twice in a week just to see. Hopefully they’re not keeping the purées too long. Do better.

Extremely Serious Food Safety and Staff Conduct Issue

I am writing this review to document a very serious food safety and customer service incident involving the McDonald’s located at 203 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL.

I placed an order through Uber Eats that included a strawberry banana shake. While drinking the shake, I ingested what appeared to be plastic and aluminum shavings that were inside the beverage. This is a serious health and safety concern and could have resulted in significant injury.

Immediately after discovering this, I called the restaurant to report the issue and requested to speak with a manager. Despite asking multiple times, I was refused access to a manager. The employee I spoke with was dismissive, spoke to me rudely, and ultimately hung up the phone on me after I informed him that I would come to the location to speak with management directly.

Given the nature of this complaint, the response I received was unacceptable. No concern was shown for my safety, and no effort was made to properly escalate or document the issue.

This review is being posted in hopes that corporate leadership and franchise ownership are made aware of both the food contamination risk and the unprofessional handling of a potentially dangerous situation. I am actively attempting to contact the franchise ownership group to formally report this incident.

Food safety is non-negotiable. This location’s response to a serious issue fell far below acceptable standards.

Workers were fast and polite. I ordered through the app and it was done. I ordered a chicken wrap and a strawberry and banana smoothie. Smoothie was great, but the chicken wrap consist of one chicken filet, but then what disgusted me is I bit into the wrap and found 2 rubbery and hard bones. I gagged and left the chicken.

Clearly understaffed, unclean, and disorganized location. Many homeless people roaming around. Screens not working, food orders not called out, hence seved cold. Rude staff giving orders to customers for asking for ketchup. Corporation clearly does not care, location is prime so it will sell regardless of service.

Employees ignored blind man asking for service. After a manager finally came to the counter he was told to use the kiosk. He had to explain to her why a blind man could not utilize a kiosk before she with great attitude told him to move to the left so that he was in front of the cash register so he could get service! She then refused to swap a happy meal toy. These people are collecting 14 dolls. Each meal is $5 and McDonald’s won’t let them swap out a box for the right doll. GREEDY corporation on top of HORRIBLE customer service from employees.

This is another long one…

First I tried to go to their bathroom and found it securely locked for good reason, but there was no way to contact the manager from the location of the bathroom. Then I waited in line only to receive the broken record of “it’s only for customers, not for public use…” 3 times I explained I was going to order after the bathroom, 2 with a mask and 1 without, and finally asked for the manager who got me the token immediately. Cudos to the manager. Down on the cashier who either didn’t understand me or ignored my reasoning. A final note to this is that the men’s room stall had no paper.

Ok…enough with the bad news.

On to the good, this why they have 4 stars instead of 1. The mobile app was awesome. The happy meal and mcdouble were great. Even the toy was cool!

Now I have the happy meal app too to play with my grandkids. Yay!!!

On top of all this, I think I bought enough to earn free food in the McDonald’s app.

Use both apps. Enjoy the food. Just be sure to order or ask the manager before you need the bathroom.

Sweet November
Stopped for a quick bite while strolling towards our destination. Bad vibe. Homeless people begging for money right inside, very disturbing. While we did feel quite safe, we ate real quick and left. Do yourself a favor, and find a different McDonald’s to visit while in Chicago.
