And the chargers dont work in that dining hall area
I am writing this review to document a very serious food safety and customer service incident involving the McDonald’s located at 203 N. LaSalle St., Chicago, IL.
I placed an order through Uber Eats that included a strawberry banana shake. While drinking the shake, I ingested what appeared to be plastic and aluminum shavings that were inside the beverage. This is a serious health and safety concern and could have resulted in significant injury.
Immediately after discovering this, I called the restaurant to report the issue and requested to speak with a manager. Despite asking multiple times, I was refused access to a manager. The employee I spoke with was dismissive, spoke to me rudely, and ultimately hung up the phone on me after I informed him that I would come to the location to speak with management directly.
Given the nature of this complaint, the response I received was unacceptable. No concern was shown for my safety, and no effort was made to properly escalate or document the issue.
This review is being posted in hopes that corporate leadership and franchise ownership are made aware of both the food contamination risk and the unprofessional handling of a potentially dangerous situation. I am actively attempting to contact the franchise ownership group to formally report this incident.
Food safety is non-negotiable. This location’s response to a serious issue fell far below acceptable standards.
First I tried to go to their bathroom and found it securely locked for good reason, but there was no way to contact the manager from the location of the bathroom. Then I waited in line only to receive the broken record of “it’s only for customers, not for public use…” 3 times I explained I was going to order after the bathroom, 2 with a mask and 1 without, and finally asked for the manager who got me the token immediately. Cudos to the manager. Down on the cashier who either didn’t understand me or ignored my reasoning. A final note to this is that the men’s room stall had no paper.
Ok…enough with the bad news.
On to the good, this why they have 4 stars instead of 1. The mobile app was awesome. The happy meal and mcdouble were great. Even the toy was cool!
Now I have the happy meal app too to play with my grandkids. Yay!!!
On top of all this, I think I bought enough to earn free food in the McDonald’s app.
Use both apps. Enjoy the food. Just be sure to order or ask the manager before you need the bathroom.
