I was in town for business and wanted to have a nice dinner with my friend. Since she was dog sitting we needed a pet friendly spot and Killer Shrimp was perfect with their outdoor patio. The ambiance was very welcoming, inviting, and causal. We ordered the lobster mac and cheese, shrimp tacos, mini crab cakes, and a garden salad with vinaigrette. Everything was absolutely delicious and so fresh. Our waitress Kali was so friendly and attentive which made the experience even better. The whole evening was top notch and I would definitely come back again.

The Baseline
The Baseline: For a seafood fine dining the fish/seafood needs to be fresh, the presentation must excel beyond a casual seafood place, there must be a selection of accompanying offerings, and there are unique offerings.

Food: The Original Shrimp is what you come here for. Shrimp. Spicy broth base. Bread. That is the original with all its glory and I can remember when it was on the second story of a strip mall sitting above a Subway and Tajrish Kabob House. If you get the original it still holds up to my memories of it at its original location. Also the fries and lobster roll were good. The Snickers Pie was a decent desert. The Original is what holds up the food rating.

Service: The service was fine but we had a bit of waiting and we had to ask for the desert menu rather than have it offered. I also had to ask for water refills.

Ambiance: As much as I had nostalgia for the Washington Blvd location, eating your meal while overlooking the marina is far superior. This is a great location that the owners are really using to its best for the square footage of this place. The building holds the Killer Cafe (breakfast place) and a Speakeasy (bar). It is a great location. Relatively clean bathroom.

The halibut looked appealing on the menu but fell short on arrival it tasted like a low – quality frozen product rather than fresh fish, w – a distinct odor that it made hard to enjoy! at this point , I expect higher quality fresh, or properly handled seafood..

After a night ride on my buddy’s boat in the marina, we docked right outside Killer Shrimp and headed in for dinner. The atmosphere was lively and welcoming, and the service was awesome—everyone was so friendly.

I ordered the enchiladas and they were amazing—definitely my new favorite dish here! The appetizers were great, and the drinks hit the spot .

Between the location, the food, and the service, this place is a gem. I’ll definitely be back and will be bringing my family and friends next time.

The original Killer Shrimp shell-on with bread. Yummy! The rest of fam had the omelet and tuna melt.

For Christmas, they offered prime rib. I had a bite from my friend’s order (not good, no flavor.) Stick with the Killer shrimp or shrimp and grits.

We’ve been coming to Killer Shrimp in the Marina for a while, and honestly the service here has always been hit or miss. But Tiffany completely changed our outlook on this place. She truly brightened our day with her warm, bubbly personality and outstanding service. She put the Happy in Happy Hour!

The view and the Happy Hour specials are already amazing, but Tiffany is the reason we’ll be coming back—just on the days we know she’s serving. Killer Shrimp, take note: she’s a gem!

My boyfriend and I could not finish our portions as they were really generous.
We had a wedge and bread to start. My boyfriend had a shrimp cocktail, and I had a roasted beet salad. Totally amazing nosh!
And our server Kalista was outstanding and very fun!

View of the marina fully enjoyed, while drinking on classic brunch dishes served beautifully, and we even rushed them a bit and ended up with time to spare. Delicious and Magical! Thank you!

This shrimp is truly KILLER! I adored the abundance of bread, the sauce was spicy and flavorful and the atmosphere of the marina view from the dining area can’t be beat! Fast and friendly service really elevated the experience as well. I will be back and I will bring friends. Seriously, we decided we’re adding this place to our list of places to bring friends who are visiting us in LA.

I always enjoy the food and easy to get seating in the bar area. Can be noisey at times but otherwise great food, drinks. Great happy hour as well! Bathrooms could use an upgrade otherwise they have a cool speakeasy next door, beautiful views with outdoor seating
