The 828 Taproom is the perfect spot to unwind and have a good time. We’re located right on the border of Lake Lure and Chimney Rock Village, making us a convenient spot for locals and visitors alike. We’ve got a great atmosphere with plenty of TVs to catch the game, plus a diverse menu to satisfy any craving. With eight rotating beers on tap and a full ABC license, we’ve got something for everyone. Come on down and see what’s pouring

Had the big pretzel, a personal pan pepperoni pizza and a cheese steak to eat and we loved it. Fiancé had an espresso martini that she thought was great also. Will return for sure. Highly recommend this as a stop to refresh your palette. Great service also.

We’ve been waiting to check out this new place and were really impressed. The menu is expansive with lots of great choices, so there’s something for everyone. And if you have a big appetite, give the Phat and Happy burger a shot. You will not be disappointed. The full bar has some fun, creative drinks that are definitely worth trying. The food was awesome and everything we had was spot on. It does take a little extra time since they use a no-fire grill, but it’s absolutely worth the wait. One of the owners was our bartender and server, and she was fantastic—super outgoing, funny, and made the whole experience even better. The whole place is super clean and is trimmed out with sports memorabilia, giving it a great laid-back vibe. They’ve got a pool table, an outdoor eating area, and plans for a tiki bar outside, which will make this a destination spot for sure. Very biker-friendly (owners ride) with a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely be back.

We had high hopes, and perhaps we came on an off day, but the service was terrible and food was subpar. After our waitress brought waters she never came back and when she finally did she said “oh I forgot about you”. We were her only table. Placing our order was painful, she could not seem to understand my question of subbing tots for chips. She read our order back and said “ok you want a black whatever that is”, laughed and left, then came back to the table and asked if we ordered a blackberry lemonade. The meatball sub was dry, tator tots were undercooked, and tacos were okay. We paid $10 for two small eggrolls that weren’t hot. We then had to chase our waitress down to get a box and the bill, and instead of getting them she talked to a coworker for another 5 or so minutes and told us our check “got lost”. And to wrap things up she told my partner he was “in a hurry” when he had to go get her once again for a pen to sign the bill. Again, we were her only table. As locals who try to support all of all our local businesses we are mind blown. I know yall are brand new but I hope there are improvements

This was the first time husband and I stopped in. Food was good, not great. We got wings with three flavors, loaded fries and a side salad. The spicy peach was okay, different which we like. Not very spicy but very peachy. The 828 buffalo sauce was really, really good. The bbq was okay, nothing social but nothing to complain about flavor wise. They were seriously saucy which I liked. But they were soggy. Idk if they needed cooked longer or if it was because of the sauce but they tasted like dominos wings texture wise and I didn’t like it neither did my husband the loaded fries came without sour cream but we didn’t ask for no sour cream. They were good flavor wise but again felt like it needed cooked more. They were very undercooked in my opinion and could have used a couple more minutes. My side salad was okay. Basic. And the mustard vinaigrette just okay. I would maybe give them a 3.5 but the flavor was good just needed cooked more maybe. The atmosphere is decent good place probably if you’re looking for a couple drinks. They listed a lot of local stuff with even some non-alcoholic beers/options.

We have eaten and drank at 828 multiple times. The food has always been great, my favorites are the meat pizza, cheeseburger salad and Korean BBQ wings. Amy was our server yesterday, very friendly on on top of everything the whole time we were there. Wonderful craft cocktails, we’ve tried several. It’s very rare, especially in the area, that everytime we go to 828 it’s very consistent.
We’re thrilled you’re finally open and everything is going so well

Wish I had pictures to share, but we ate everything too fast!!! We had the Brussels sprouts, wings, quesadillas, cheeseburgers, Caesar salad, meatball hoagie, and buffalo chicken pizza. Finished with a salted caramel cheesecake. Everything was DELICIOUS and we left with too full bellies! The service was great – super kind and attentive, and the drinks were super yummy! We had craft beers and a watermelon jalapeño margarita. Will be back to support this new hot spot!!

Merely walking inside I knew it was going to be a great experience. The vine was chill and welcoming. 5 TVs at the bar for whatever games are on. There is 1 large TV over the pool table. Decor is quite amazing with signed everything Someone is a Steelers fan and I’m with them
Good was great. Bartender, cuz we ate at the bar, is very personable. Prices are affordable. I was impressed with the beer menu and I don’t drink beer lol
Short of long: looking forward to have a new experience here in Lake Lure!

Great addition to Chimney Rock Lake Lure! Really good food and great service!! All the menu items you would expect and many different items that were delicious. We had the pork belly tacos and the loaded mac and cheese with pork belly, wanted to try the meatballs too and they were very good! Deserts looked good but they will have to wait till next time! Good prices, good food and service.

Came here with my wife and in-laws (who had come here the night before) on weekend trip to Chimney Rock. Friendly atmosphere and the staff was great! The owner, Chris, came by our table so I asked for a recommendation. I took it. It was delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their food as well but Chris’ recommendation was next level. No, I am not going to tell you what I had…who doesn’t like a little mystery? Go ask them yourselves!
