I recently had the opportunity to try this delicious establishment with my gf and I fell in love instantly.
Since I don’t eat pork I normally don’t get a chance to try Bahn mi’s. But here they have chicken options so I was in luck.
I have tried both the curry chicken and the lemon grass chicken and they are so delicious.
The sandwhiches are so crunchy, and the veggies are always fresh and crisp which compliments the warm chicken very well.
If you never been, I suggest given them a try asap!

Unbeatable all around. Great, fresh and delicious food made with care. Always kind and personable people behind the counter answering any questions you may have. And the price point is unheard of in today’s crazy economy! Such a neighborhood gem.

Really good banh mi under $10, can’t go wrong with that. Went with the curry chicken but I’m sure the others are good too.

Nhu Lan Bakery is amazing! The banh mi is always fresh and full of flavor, and everything feels homemade and authentic. The staff are super friendly, and the whole place has such a welcoming vibe. I love stopping by here — it’s easily one of my favorite spots in Chicago for a quick, delicious lunch.

First, this is one of the better bahn mi sandwich shop in Chicagoland, specifically the roasted pork, I believe they freshly roasted their own pigs. The meat is so tasty and the included crunchy skin is king!
But, the sandwich are bit overpriced for the size and the day we were there way too many orders and only 2 people working, 1 person in the back making sandwiches and 1 person serving the counter. It was super slow. We had waited over 20 minutes.

Delicious Vietnamese food!!! I can attest that the roast pork, lemongrass chicken, vegan lemongrass tofu, and vegan ginger tofu bahn mi sandwiches are all incredible and delicious! Also I recommend grabbing some of the shrimp spring rolls (fresh, not fried) from the to-go case. A gem!

I’ve ordered from Nhu Lan for 10+ years and today, it just didn’t hit like it has in the past. Today, I ordered delivery. Maybe it’s because it’s a holiday? I dunno.
My sugarcane shrimp bahn mi was flat on flavor. The shrimp spring rolls looked like they’d been opened. There were 2 anorexic, skinny and sparse rolls in the container. For $4.25 for the 2, I don’t expect a feast, but I do expect the Saran Wrap to be sealed. The pork bun was ice cold. In the past, the been served warm. The lemongrass vegan bahn mi was the unsung hero of the order, per usual.
I was very disappointed this order. I’ll go back to another location next time. I’ll avoid a holiday and walk in myself, as opposed to using a delivery service.

I ordered through Uber eats and I was so satisfied with my order. They gave really generous servings at a reasonable price and the dished were also very delicious. Even the sauce were generous and the toppings for the soup too. They had the biggest Spring rolls I ever ordered so far for only $5+. Superb food!!!

Ok first let me state I been eating Vietnamese food since the 80s so I do know a bit of this food by now. I must say the bread was fantastic the bbq pork was a bit dry and not enough for 10.00 dollars. I asked for the sauce with peanut she claim she didn’t have any so it was a bit dry. Overall a bit pricey for a sandwich at 11.00 but there is a solution I noticed they sell the bbq pork by portion for 13.00 will buy that next time with the bread and create my own.
