Taco Guild’s previous life was originally constructed as a Methodist Church institutionalized in the cornerstone dated 1893 (before Arizona was even a state), and another from its renewal in 1955 after a few decades of disuse following a fire in 1911 — are commemorated in shadow boxes of memorabilia and photo arrays. Today our team here at Taco Guild prides ourselves on providing friendly service to our community. We offer a wide variety of tacos from many different cuisines paired with craft cocktails, beer, wine & one of the largest collections of tequila and mezcal in the south west United States.
Set in an old church, this gastropublike spot serves sustainable Mexican fare, craft beer & tequila.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant—an absolute must-stop if you’re anywhere nearby. From the moment you walk in, the experience is special. The complimentary chips and house-made salsas alone are worth the visit—fresh, flavorful, and dangerously addictive. And the fact that the space used to be a church? Completely mind-blowing and beautifully done. Such a unique atmosphere paired with fantastic food—can’t recommend it enough!

This was my first time but definitely not my last. We didn’t want to fight rush hour after a flight into PHX so we grabbed dinner on a Friday night. The food was amazing from order to table was no more than 15 minutes! The server was amazing and attentive! The atmosphere was a vibe. The music by Jeremiah Gold was wonderful. To catch the live music go Friday or Saturday night 6-8pm.

The drinks were fantastic — strong, flavorful, and definitely not watered down! The salsas were all great, with the habanero being my favorite for its perfect balance of sweet and heat. I do wish the chips were made fresh instead of coming from a grocery bag, but everything else made up for it. The lamb and cherry steak tacos were absolutely delicious — unique, tender, and full of flavor. Service was excellent, and the ambiance made for a great dining experience. I’ll definitely be back!

Taco Guild is one of the most unique taco spots I’ve ever visited — set inside a beautifully restored old church with stained glass windows, vaulted wood ceilings, and chandeliers that give it an incredible atmosphere. I ordered three tacos — the Chipotle Cherry Steak, Baja Fish, and California Taco — and the California Taco was my favorite. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The Baja Fish had a great crunch, and the steak taco brought a nice smoky heat. When you order the taco trio, you also get a free side of rice or beans.
Service was friendly, and the whole place has a relaxed but lively vibe. Whether you’re a local or visiting Phoenix, Taco Guild is absolutely worth a stop — come for the tacos, stay for the atmosphere.

Delicious tacos!! The restaurant is an old church and has such an amazing interior. The steak tacos were incredible and so was the ceviche! Their beans were good too and service was fantastic! Check it out!

Visiting Phoenix, I made a special trip to Taco Guild for the first time in over a year. Objective was the delicious, crispy chicharones I’d had (with guacamole) the time before. I was so disappointed to see that they’ve changed the menu and the order is no longer the big bowl of light and crispy fried pork rind I was looking forward to, but soggy, salty pieces of skin with meat attached, and very few at that.
Additionally, the guacamole seems stretched beyond the avocado capacity, with too much chopped tomato and onion. Finally, I sent my (too oniony) shrimp ceviche back, because it had an “off” taste to it, kind of like mold. That said, it was a good-sized portion. The chips and salsa were yummy and the service was excellent. Don’t know if I’d go back.

I loved the architecture of this restaurant, the stain-glass windows and high wood-paneled ceiling. The service was amazing. The tacos are about $8-12 each. Rice and beans are an extra $4 each. The California taco was delicious with lots of meat but the fish and the scallop taco didn’t have very little of the seafood. I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. Appetizers are $2 off during happy hour.

Awesome taco restaurant in an old church with stained glass surrounding you. Great variety of creative tacos. We went on taco Tuesday and got 2 dollar off tacos meaning we could try even more. The fried scallop and the shrimp fajita tacos were my favorites. An awesome variety of margaritas as well. The happy hour menu was also an added bonus. Great, friendly service. Will definitely go back when in town!
