This place gives high quality food with GIGANTIC amount of servings. The fry bowl I tried was filled with all bunch of hot fries and the proteins, more than enough for two people. The taco was also filled with diverse, fresh toppings. I personally loved the mango one because it was sweet and refreshing. I also tried their spicy pineapple sauce for the first time and it was so good.
I’ve visited several taco places in dc, and this one’s my favorite now.

The cashier was very polite and is bilingual.

They accept cash and card.

The Taco Tuesday special is 2 soft tacos and a can soda for $10 plus tax.

*Bland tacos*
I have never had a flavorless taco until I came here . The chicken and steak were ” over cooked” hard to chew. No seasoning at all!! The worst part was they did not have any lime or lemon wedges for the tacos.

The corn was nice and sweet and the soft taco was fresh. The potato dog with cheese is a great option for people who like cheese. It was to greasy for me.

Ample seating for the size of the place. No public restroom.

Pretty straightforward, build your own taco, burrito, and maybe bowl, too? I didn’t see. I ordered at the in person register. Then I saw there was a computer screen where I think you can also order.
I probably should have done that because they did get my order wrong. Nothing crazy just asked for specific topping for each meat choice, and it was mixed up. And I was going to buy a drink but before I said something I was given my total.
I also ordered guacamole really good! It was a shame the chips weren’t too fresh.
The first taco I ordered was shrimp with Pico ( but they put cilantro and onion), still a 5/5 and it went amazing with the spicy pineapple sauce. That was a winner!
I still want to try it with the kimchi lime or Pico.
2nd taco was steak with cilantro and onion , I wasn’t a fan of the meat. 2/5.
3rd taco was chicken. It had cilantro and onion, but I asked for the Pico on this one. Chicken was good, but you need to find the right toppings for it. 4/5
Over all 3/5. guacamole and shrimp taco saved this place for me. I won’t be rushing back, but this is a good note to try things with different toppings next time.
I think they should have a signature taco for each meat that people can pick from. Designing your own taco is cool, but having a go-to pick would help people fall in love with different items. Even having a taco of the day special. And for sure, chip and guacamole special so that more chips are getting ordered before they get stale. Gotta move product faster or order less inventory at a time.
Price wise, I think it’s automatic dollar too much for a taco.
This place is right across the street from a university and on a busy street. There SOOO much potential with this place. Just gotta market and add a few things. Maybe even a student discount.
This place is also in walking distance of thousands of potential customers, cheap beer might be a good add to this place.
Aside from that, the place seem low key. And can seat like 15-20 people. It looks like they have room for outside seating. It’s also on a corner, so I’d take advantage of that if they are able to.
Next time im in town, I’ll check out reviews and see if any changes have been made. So I might stop by again in the future to do a new review.
Low rating isn’t to say avoid this place. it’s for the owners to make a few changes. Taco spots should be 5/5 every time.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Far East Taco, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The staff was incredibly accommodating and helpful, especially when I needed a taco platter for guests we were hosting for dinner. They went above and beyond by separating the tacos so everyone could customize them to their liking.

The food was absolutely amazing. We ordered shrimp, steak, and chicken tacos, and every single one was delicious. The guacamole was a standout – made from scratch and bursting with fresh flavor. The rice was fluffy and soft, complementing the tacos perfectly. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-prepared.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was welcoming and vibrant, adding to the overall fantastic dining experience. I will definitely be back. Not to mention, the staff was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our visit. They’re doing something right here at Far East Taco, and I highly recommend giving it a try.

We got the build your own burrito and the loaded quesadilla. We got the pineapple sauce and the cream sauce. The burrito was supposed to have chicken but it seemed that both had tofu. The biggest difference between the two items was the burrito had rice and the quesadilla had a lot of cheese. Both were well seasoned and mixing in the sauce gave some variety in the bites.

This place has the bones to be a fantastic neighborhood spot, they have generous portions, fresh ingredients, and creative mixes; but they just aren’t quite there because they don’t season everything so sometimes it doesn’t quite come together. For example, mixing some salt, pepper, and fresh herbs into the rice would take everything to the next level, but often the food is under salted. I love this place in concept!!

Edit: the food flavor got better but I sadly got food poisoning the last time I went so I don’t think I can endorse anymore

Ordered from Uber Eats. The food tastes good, but it is swimming in oil. Oil was covering the bag and containers. Pictures provided. I ended up throwing the quesadilla away. Ate two tacos and realized my hand was drenched in oil. Both had spicy chicken, so I’m not sure why the heavy oil was needed.

This was really good in my opinion. The tacos were full, with ingredients falling out. The protein was cooked to a point that maintained their flavor and juices. The toppings offerings are plentiful and the sauces are delicious.

The service was friendly and made it delightful to be there. It is not a spacious location, but you can sit in the window, or there are tables for small parties and one bench seating for you and several friends.

Parking in the neighborhood is hit or miss, but it’s the only option. It sits on Florida Ave, directly across from Gallaudet University. But regardless, of parking, it’s worth the trip. We had the spicy chicken, spicy pork, corn dog, tres leches, and soy garlic chicken. I would order any one of those again!

Super tasty food. The Tex mex eggrolls are one of the my favorite bites, and they’re big enough to be a small meal for one. Ugh. So. Good.

UPDATE 4/23/21: adding a star back. Why? Because they’ve picked up the quality and consistency of the takeout food. Have ordered 3 more times since last year and have enjoyed it very time. Solid ameri-Tex like Mexican egg rolls and tacos that satisfy the taste buds but destroy your calorie count.

UPDATE 1/4/20: dropping a star. Here’s why:
Very significant decline in quality and volume of food since our last two experiences. We have ordered food from here three times, all delivered through Yelp (i.e. grub hub). Really disappointing because it was one of our favorite places.

Quantity: There used to be two egg rolls per order. Now one. And the one we received was noticeably less stuffed with food.

Quality: Everything we ordered was of lower quality than the past two times. The fried egg roll was soft and chewy. The pork belly was so hard to chew i gave most of it to our dog. Both orders of tacos were slightly cold when they arrived.
