After going to Alfonso Burritos in Duncanville, he told me about his dad’s spot in Abilene. This place was just as good and Burritos were delicious! Staff wasn’t that talkative when trying to bring up the son so I was like…okay lol…but good overall, would definitely come back!

Absolutely amazing! Alfonso Hernandez Bakery is a hidden gem serving authentic, traditional Mexican food and baked goods that taste like home. The menudo was rich and flavorful—perfectly seasoned and comforting—and the barbacoa tacos were tender and delicious. You can really tell everything is made with care and tradition. The service was friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I’ll definitely be back to try more from their menu!

Went for lunch with my little one and a friend. Had the carne asada gordita plate with pico de gallo inside the gordita. Let me tell you, this was the best asada I’ve ever tasted! My friend also loved their plate! My little one ate all her beans and rice.

Ordered egg, bacon, and cheese burritos. This is the monstrosity I received. Old, cold, overcooked, and completely inedible.

I got my burritos back all wrong. They put carne guisada and should have been Piccadillo and super greasy as well. I only went because popular bakery was closed today. Too disgusting

My husband picked up a dozen and a half Tamales this morning. I’ve been wanting some and haven’t found anyone selling them for a while now. So I was super excited to have them.
WORST Tamales I’ve ever tasted! If you like salty food, these are #1. They are so salty, the salt must have fallen in while being measured. (Hopefully it was an accident. )
Now if you can swallow the extremely salty tamale, you wouldn’t even know you’re eating a tamale unless you’re looking at it. They had such an overpowered taste of smokey burnt food. I could even taste the mask.
Even as I sit here writing this review, the smell of something burned is lingering in the air.
So dry, salty and burnt. Definitely overpriced, especially for terrible food.
Oh, and the hot sauce was just as bad.
Disappointed customer.

We went by today within one hour of closing. The service was excellent and the food was really good. I had the caldo de rez and my husband had the huevos rancheros with refried beans, potatoes, and bacon and a barbacoa taco. Everything tasted good and we had leftovers!

Was not happy today. Normally my favorite burrito place in town. Food was still good but they got my order wrong. Good barbacoa. Just wish I would have had the other three items on my burrito.
