I was so excited to try this spot after searching for a nearby place to have lunch near my hotel. One thing’s for sure, I’m always down for a good lobster roll. First lobster roll in DC! I got the Connecticut roll because I like warm lobster rolls. There was a good amount of lobster pieces on the roll and the roll was nicely toasted and buttered. Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls located in the Western Market food hall right by George Washington University (GW) off of 21st & Pennsylvania Ave. in DC seemed like a quick and easy spot to enjoy a classic Connecticut lobster roll with warm butter and some New England Clam Chowder w/ oyster cracker and I was right. It hit the spot! An easy, affordable yet slightly decadent meal, which I was able to enjoy right at Mason’s Famous Lobster Rolls counter and people watch. Absolutely delicious. The lobster pieces were perfect sized. We ordered lobster rolls, old bay fries, clam chowder, and lobster Mac and cheese. I only have a picture of the fries because we weren’t patient enough to wait before digging in. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the flavors all complemented each other beautifully. The service was also quick!

I’ve had MANY lobster rolls at Mason’s locations and I wish the experience wasn’t so inconsistent. At this particular food court Mason’s location, I ended up with some pretty horrific food poisoning. I let corporate know about it and have received zero response. Very disappointed and I will not be returning to another Mason’s anytime soon.

The classic lobster roll with lemon, butter, and mayo on warm toast was to DIE for! They stuffed it full of lobster and no fillers. So. Tasty. Highly recommend this place! Only complaint is that I kept wanting more.

So I’ve had a bad experience with lobster, but on my trip to DC, I decided to try the Mason Famous Lobster Roll’s Classic Lobster Roll……..DELICIOUS!!!!!!!! The service was great, the food great, and they made it quick! I will definitely be trying it again!

I had such a great experience at the register around 12pm on 7/24, thanks to the incredibly kind gentleman working there. His service was outstanding, so much so that I felt compelled to leave this review. He was genuinely friendly, engaging in real conversation instead of sounding scripted or going through the motions. What really stood out besides the nice conversation we had, was how he went out of his way to offer above and beyond service to the customer ahead of me. He offered to carry her things back to her office as her hands were full. That kind of authentic, thoughtful service is rare these days. I truly hope management sees this — he’s a real asset to the team!

The person at the cashier was clueless about the details of their menu. I asked for recommendations and he just started at me. The lobster roll was OK, nothing extraordinary. $20 feels excessive for a tiny sandwich.

Great lobster roll with large lumps of meat. I found the Classic Roll to be a solid choice. The lobster bisque is also a delicious, warm treat.
