Stopped in for a little dinner with my boy. He had two California rolls & I had the chicken stir fry. The rolls were great & mt stir fry was piping hot & filled with incredible veggies & tasty chicken.

Good, But Stick to the Noodles and Bento Boxes
I’ve been to Bonsai a couple of times now, and my experience has been a bit mixed, but overall, it’s a solid choice for a meal in Ashland. On my first visit, I tried the California roll and the spicy salmon roll. I have to say, they weren’t my favorite. The flavors didn’t quite hit the mark for me, and I’ve definitely had better sushi elsewhere.
However, I’m glad I gave it a second chance. On my return visit, I ordered the yakisoba noodles, and they were delicious. The flavors were spot on, and the portion was generous. A friend I was with also ordered one of the larger bento boxes, which looked fantastic and was a good size for the price. They really enjoyed their meal as well.
So, while I’d recommend exploring the menu beyond the basic sushi rolls, Bonsai Sushi has some great options. The bento boxes and noodle dishes seem to be their strong suit, and they are definitely worth a try.

I’m no longer a fan. We have all spent a considerable amount of money at this location over the years and have experienced a wide range of service, from good to very poor. Unfortunately, what stands out the most (recently) is service that feels unfriendly and uncomfortable. Servers whom are ungrateful for return service, large tips and unwavering dedication.
I brought these concerns to management on two separate occasions and never received a response. Several coworkers and Myself share the same experience and agree the overall quality and atmosphere here appear to be declining rapidly.

This is my go to place for sashimi in the valley. I’m a bit old school (by American standards) and have never gotten into all the various rolls. I try every roll my wife gets but always prefer the sashimi that I order each time. The fish is fresh and portions is generous.

Great first dine in experience waiter was very friendly and accommodating. Appetizers were perfectly cooked and portion size was more than sufficient. Our main entrees hit the spot! Flavorful and delicious. Will recommend to friends and family thank you.

Fabulously fresh salmon in the bento box… also very fresh sashimi. A bit expensive but I felt we got what we paid for. We unknowingly came at the last minute before they closed for their 1-1/2 hour lunch break at 2:15 pm so they rushed us to order which wasn’t cool. Aside from that, we really enjoyed eating lunch and will happily go back when they are open.

First time visit and absolutely loved the time I spent eating in. Staff are friendly and prompt, the food is amazing and you can see the chef as they work, overall 5/5.
