Norms is Norms – #25 La CIENEGA, Los Angeles, CA. … your typical comfort food. However, since I had not had pancakes in a few years I craved a good pancake. So off to Norms we went after a meeting and since we were in this part of town off to norms we went. My family had never been to norms and enjoyed their meals. We had eggs Benedict and 2 veggie omelette; they were decent and hit the spot. But the pancakes were all worth it! The best.

Maricela, our server was great, caring and efficient – professional- making sure our coffee cups were full of hot coffee and we were pleased with our food.

Thanks for the yummy comfort food; off to OC now.

I love Norms hadn’t been in a while and the burger I ordered was cooked to perfection. Nice and crispy fries with the right amount of salt, paired nicely with mustard as I’m not a ketchup fan. Try the steak sauce on your burger you’ll thank me later! Well deserved 5 stars all around

Norms is my absolute favorite diner. If you’re looking for a good traditional American breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this is the right place. The new cookie sundae is terrific and well priced. I love all the history behind Norms and hope it will continue to serve the community for years to come. Lucy is an amazing server who is very attentive to her customers and very fast! ‍♀️

I’ve never visited a Norms although my wife visited the original restaurant many many years ago. We were greeted by friendly staff and our server was phenomenal. They were extremely busy and a staff member down but she worked like I’ve never seen before.
The food is best described as comfort food. I wanted the combo as I love ribs and burnt ends. Both of these were really good. I opted for the buffalo sauce on the wings which was very tasty but a little salty. I understand that in ‘merica they put salt on a lot but it felt a little too much, but not enough to ruin the meal.
All in all a very good value meal which was better than what I’ve paid over 50% more for on this trip.

The food was okay, and the portions were definitely generous, which we appreciated. However, the lack of vegetarian options made it a bit difficult for our group to find something suitable. It would be great to see more variety on the menu for those who don’t eat meat.

On a positive note, our waitress, a lovely Filipino lady, was incredibly sweet and provided excellent service. She made our experience much better! Overall, it was an okay visit, but we’d love to see more vegetarian-friendly options in the future.

The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the door is somewhat broken and was slamming every 3-5 min.
Their waitresses are very attentive and the food was delicious. Enjoy.

Huge free parking lot. Good deals on pasta. The ranch is good. So was the gumbo.

Only waited 5 minutes we requested a booth. Good food, service was great, although they did not honor my 3 coupons $10 off, per person, per order. Wouldn’t that be 3 dishes, 3 orders and there was 3 of us. Anyway, I passed them forward, 2 unused coupons to the other customers. They were nicely surprised a stranger gave them $10. Very clean restaurant. I would come here again.

The food is 50s diner food, it’s the location that makes it worth the trip.

Norms on La Cienega thrives on atmosphere alone. The googie architecture shifts the whole environment from the angled booth, swooped ceilings, L-shaped counter seating and bright pops of orange. The service is done with a smile, fast, friendly and keeps that coffee flowing. It’s obvious why Norms is always packed, it a great place to be.

As for the food, I unfortunately cannot share the same compliments. The hotcakes are the star — fluffy, buttery, well salted and melt in your mouth delicious. The biscuits and gravy were odd. Starting with the biscuits, they ate like sand because of how grainy they are; literally dissolving in your mouth. The gravy was well peppered — I’ll give it that — but didn’t have any remarkable taste outside of that. The hash browns left so much to be desired. They were unseasoned and undercooked. There was no crisp to them and were just lumped together shredded potatoes with nothing holding them together.

The main courses were good. The vegetables on the veggie omelette were not mush so they provided good textual variation between the soft mushrooms and the crunchy bell peppers. The cheese was just kind of there and the whole thing could have used some extra seasoning — just salt and pepper would have gone a long way.

The Lumberjack Breakfast was just pig meat on a plate. The bacon was bacon. The sausage was just like a Jimmy Dean breakfast sausage and the eggs were well done over-easy.

Overall, while Norms didn’t have the best food, I’d still recommend people check it out to experience and keep this beloved institution alive.

I love NORMS! A classic diner in the googie architectural style (think 60s car culture meets The Jetsons). I go there for breakfast all the time. I love their pancakes. I crave them when I don’t have them for a while. My go-to is the SoCal breakfast. It’s so good!
