Reviews
This was hands-down one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had, especially for the price.
We were a party of four at Siniikaung Bistro inside Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort. Three of us finished eating before the fourth person even received their food. To make it worse, the waitress brought out a nearly $190 bill before the final meal was even served. That alone says everything about the level of service.
Orders were messed up, the food that did arrive was lukewarm, and the steaks were embarrassing for a place charging these prices. I’ve had better steaks at Golden Corral, and that’s not an exaggeration.
Service was disorganized, inattentive, and completely unaware of what was happening at the table. For a restaurant that tries to come across as upscale, this was a total failure.
I won’t ever be back. They should be embarrassed.
This place ran a special Dec,1st- Dec 25th. They offered a 1# prime rib dinner that included baked potato and vegetable. I’ll start with what went wrong with this promotion, then I’ll address the food. Reservations were suggested but not required. We were there Dec 2nd picking up concert tickets. Made reservation for 5pm. Spoke with another patron who had dined there for the special. He informed us he made reservations for every single day of the promotion because he lived 20 mins from casino. About a week later we decided we’d like to go on a Thursday for Senior day, and also on Christmas day. My husband tried calling for reservations. You get a voice mail telling you leave your info and we’ll call in 2 or 3 days. No call came so we talked to guest services who informed us that they can’t even get them to pick up a phone. We were advised to call every 3-4 days. Which my husband did.He tried when they opened, thruout day etc. Finally a call came Dec 22nd. We got reservations for the 24th at 3pm, and the 25th at 3pm. We decided to just book a hotel room there for a night getaway. In my opinion this was one of the poorest ran promotions I’ve seen. The other steak house there at the casino your able to make reservations online. Your not tying up phone lines with hundreds of people trying to get thru & bothering staff. Why they didn’t do it that way as well I’ll never understand.Next issue they should of put some sort of limit on the promotion. It already required you either be a card member or become one. (Well they DEFINITELY reached their goal getting new members) because every time we passed guest services the lines were darn near out the door. We had spoke with a staff member of the restaurant who said they were getting 700-800 calls a day. By the time they called 400 people,300ish had left messages. Which is absolute insanity to put staff & customers thru all that nonsense. Having reservations made online by customers would of been sooo much easier. The staff was running around non stop, it was awfully busy for them. Also I feel they should of set limits to a promotion like this. For example 1 visit a week per card member. New card members max 2 a month. Odds are the new card members won’t go there often, let alone to gamble. But to allow a free for all where anyone can come everyday of the promotion is insanity.
NOW on to the food. How do you possibly think you can run a promotion like this and put out quality food? 1st visit we had we both ordered medium rare. See enclosed photos of what we received. 1 was rare, the other was well done. At any table whether for 2 or 10 a good chef is not going to put out 2 totally different temperatures of steaks when they are both ordered the same, medium rare. They never should have left the window like that. The only thing remotely warm on our plates was the potato. There was ZERO pride in presentation. Also in glancing around the room there was no consistency to their cutting the steaks of the roasts. They had no pride in that kitchen because they were slammed unfairly by a poorly ran promotion. They were literally just throwing the food on the plates to get to tables, then on to the next. No point in asking if we said anything because we do, but we won’t send food back. I’ve literally seen pissed off chefs. So no ty.
We figured Christmas eve day we would give them 2nd shot. It had been 2 weeks or so, maybe they smoothed out the ruffles. We get there to a nice line of people and 4 staff at the hostess station. Us and another couple had to literally ask each person ahead of us if they have reservations, so we were not burning our 3pm reservation. In situations like this its nice to either have 1 staff member directing lines for reservations and those that don’t. Even a sign would work ♀️.So for a 3pm dinner its the last meal before reopen at 5pm. This is already a toss up of how your meal will be, but it was the only open time.
Not surprised but they were consistent with meat temp. Both were well done when we asked for medium rare. NO we did not do Christmas day!
Now for the food. I started with the tortilla soup. It was ok for soup. Nothing amazing. We got the cheddar biscuits before the meal and they were phenomenal. I ordered the filet tenderloins with shrimp. It came out beautifully presented and had amazing sauces that it came with. I asked for fried shrimp instead of grilled and it was delicious. My friend got the burger with fries and said it was pretty good. We choose not to get dessert because we did not want to deal with our servers attitude towards us.
Everything is a La carte from the wedge salad to any topping you might want on your steak. The desserts are exquisite.
The atmosphere is classy with low lighting, comfortable chairs, cloth tablecloths and napkins and elegant flatware. Very clean.
Table service was excellent. Pricey. It’s cheaper then Vegas but not by much. I would return on special occasions.
