La Forketta is an Italian Restaurant owned from Lara and Max, a italian couple from Milan, that arrived here straight from Italy and opened this little italian restaurant. Chef Max, born and raised in Milan, has Calabrian origins on his maternal side and Marche origins on his paternal grandparents. This union allowed him to touch all the flavors of Italy starting from the north (Milan), going to the center (Marche) and arriving at the south (Calabria)

We had theater tickets in Ft Lauderdale and live in West Delray, so I asked my brother who lives in Ft Lauderdale for a recommendation for a restaurant.
La Forketta is a small storefront restaurant where you enter thru a separate pizza and sandwich shop who has a different owner. Seats only about 40 people. Very attentive wait staff. Nice menu with a large daily special menu. The prices are very reasonable.
Since we were eating at 6, we only ordered entrees, my wife chose the Eggplant Parmesan, huge portion with a side of pasta, very good. I opted for the Linguine Seafood with Calamari, shrimps, octopus, garlic, tomato, and parsley. Very good but a little light o0n the seafood.
Definitely will return.

It has to be one of the best authentic Italian restaurants in Pompano. It is definitely a hidden gem. The prices are very reasonable with many great pasta options under $20. It was a short 20 minute wait for a table. They also have an adjoining to-go Italian deli/ bakery with breads/meals items.

This restaurant was so much nicer than I expected based on the strip mall exterior. I arrived without a reservation and immediately felt underdressed for the cozy, elegant ambiance. After briefly misunderstanding someone at the door, I awkwardly seated myself. The host soon came over, explained that he was fully booked for the evening, and that I couldn’t stay at that table. I was mortified and apologized profusely.
Thankfully, he asked me to wait and then found me a small side table, encouraging me to stay — and I’m so glad he did. The staff was cordial and attentive, and the owner (I assume) made a point to visit tables, check on guests, and support the team. And of course, the food was delicious — perfectly done pasta
Don’t be deceived by the exterior. And maybe dress a little nicer than jean shorts, Keds, and a T-shirt.

We ordered through Uber and received two completely different dinners than we ordered. We ordered Chicken Marsala and Orrechietti with Broccoli and Sausage. We received a Veal Parmesan and a Chicken dish with a ham slice and mushrooms in a marinara sauce. The seafood salad had some squid that had not been prepped properly. It had the inner plastic left inside. The only good dish was the pizza. I will never order from Forketta again.

Good quality food, service was decent, atmosphere was not that great. No music on the background and everyone was talking loud. Also felt like there was no AC in the building. It was so hot, we kept running outside to cool off. Also there is always an inconsistency in the pricing for bread.

We used to love the pizza here and always appreciated the quality ingredients. Lately though, things have changed. Prices went up and the ingredients feel cheaper, the olives especially stood out in a bad way. I don’t mind paying more when the quality is there, but this was disappointing.
