i just ordered $80 worth of food for the kids and the lady refused to give us more than two fortune cookies. she said she has to charge for anything beyond that. the food is very average—the egg rolls are super soggy. and definitely don’t eat there: the place is freezing and the heat is off.

What’s at the San Anselmo hub ? At the southeast corner that you can’t miss from Center or Sir Francis Drake from Fairfax waiting for the green light to get on the Miracle Mile is CHINA VILLA. It is interesting for how such a quiet place with not much more sound than a light fish tank fountain is just a wall away from what is considered by many Marinites to be Marin’s noisiest and busiest intersection. NEARBY parking is a lot easier than it looks. It is a standard clean and decorated Chinese restaurant that has an ample amount of space for anyone to walk in for dinner (I came when it was empty for lunch). The food is good and Jenny, the waitress, is funny. It was a substantial veggie lunch that I had. I had fun taking pictures along with my lunch. For that rather big lunch that I had, the check was quite reasonable after I even saw the prices on the menu. Shüniû!! (Looked up hub in Chinese).

This restaurant has real lemon chicken breast strips on their menu and has for many years! We just ordered this dish and was so disappointed that we got lemon chicken nuggets . We called to inquire and was told that it was the same thing! Not the same thing at all.

I wanted to add this to this review. I get this all the time, and I love this place. It is so good! I got takeout and it was awesome! I got mu shu pork, deep fried orange chicken, and deep fried general Tso’s, and house special chow mein, best ever, and I couldn’t be happier!
Second time ordering and I still love this food every-time.
Third, forth, and you will understand why.

This is the only Chinese food I eat in San Rafael. Sometimes, I crave it. Their shrimp fried rice, and chicken chow mein is the best I’ve tasted since I was a kid. That real authentic taste. Plus, I don’t have to worry about peas and carrots in my fried rice (that’s a no-no). Their rice is full of flavor. You know it when you see it because it’s not white with stuff mixed in. I absolutely love this place. It’s in the next city over but it’s worth it…

They seriously need to fix the menus. I supposedly order a dish that costs 8 bucks. Went there for pick up & came out with -19 dollars on my bank account. I also asked how much would it be if I added veggies to my plate they said about 15 bucks total so I said no just have whatever I ordered first. But I guess it didn’t make any difference. Bad service

I have been meaning to try this place for about 10 years. For real. We always went to chrysanthemum down the street and I guess became wrongly stuck in our ways. Well, good thing the other guy shut down, because this place is great. We had really good, really fresh, not overly salty Americanized Chinese food. You know, it’s all the good stuff you can find in Chinese places that cater to non-Chinese people. This place is definitely our new defacto local Chinese place.
One other thing, they have a sign that says no MSG and I really believe it. I trust them and from eating there, I trust that there actually is NO msg.

No. Just don’t.
Spent $80 on very soggy very gross general tso’s / orange chicken / king pao chicken. Tried to improve a few dishes with an air fryer but failed.
Never ordering ever again.

Delicious sweet “N” sour pork, best in Marin. You get so much food for a single dinner and it is delivered hot and fresh. So happy I treated myself to our local China Villa in San Anselmo.

Fast service while you are there but can be kinda off sometimes with their service too… for example, I was at work and wanted to order a delivery cause the delivery fee is only $2 but when I called them they told me they don’t deliver till 4:30-On (called an hr to early) which is whatever. I don’t mind. So I called back after 4:30 and there phone line was busy for two hours….. So being VERY hungry, I took my fifteen to leave and go there. When I showed up, he checked the phones when I asked him what was going on and the phone wasn’t on the receiver. Luckily, he took my order asap, told the cook I was in a rush to accommodate me for having to leave my job cause I wanted their food (all i was willing to pay for price wise), and had it in my hands with everything I ordered ready to go in 11 mins… (was on the phone right after i put in my order so it was unintentionally timed) and honestly the food was ehh. For the price it wasn’t bad at all but it could have been better. Then again, I got my food in fifteen mins so idk… But they have menus in different prices under different links online, they lag alot and it’s not alot of foot traffic inside at 6pm (one person) but after the phone was back on the receiver the phone was blowing up so I think they are more known for take out. I give this three stars cause I’m willing to try them again, I suppose.
