I had a nice overall experience here. I was initially worried since one of the staff members approached me as though she would serve me but, amazingly, she did not speak English. My real server was excellent and considerate when he finally arrived. I order the fried gator. It could have been better, but the real order was the crab legs, mussels, and shrimp. I asked for hot and it was just that. I started sweating from the heat.

We enjoyed what was really a very nice meal tonight at Red Pier in Hot Springs! Jen’s pick — my first time. I started the meal off right with a half dozen raw. They oysters were fresh and meaty, despite presenting in landlocked Arkansas. Served properly with fresh horseradish, lemon, and saltine crackers. Then l loved my shrimp boil with Red Pier’s signature blend of cajun, lemon pepper and garlic butter. I opted to incorporate some heat with mine. I also enjoyed the tender yellow potatoes and corn on the cob included! It was a hit.
Otherwise, several widescreen TVs were placed throughout the restaurant, showing sports and other programming. There’s a nice bar too with ample selection. I also enjoyed the digital aquarium stretching across one wall of the restaurant.

It was really busy with customer’s. I felt bad for our waitress. She was way over loaded. The other staff that were Asian would stand around, watch the dinning area, and point out and tell her to do something instead of just helping do it. My wife and I spit the shrimp boil bag. With extra corn. Its decent food I guess.

As far as a seafood boil goes, this place is pretty good but way over priced compared to some other mom and pop places in town. $12 a pound for crawfish (even during the season) is crazy considering it’s about half that everywhere else and who eats just one pound of mud bugs? I had to try a little of everything and I would go back for the black and green mussels, clams, and scallops all day. They really absorbed the tasty spicy red pier seasoning. As far as the shrimp, it wasn’t anything to write home about, not too flavorful like the other stuff. The crab legs tasted like any others really so $18 for a 1/2 lb of legs isn’t worth it honestly. The corn and taters are definitely appreciated seeing how at some other places you have to order those ala cart. The atmosphere is really fun, spacious and has a nice bar area.

Love this spot. I make it a point to stop here at least twice whenever I’m in Hot Springs visiting family. The seafood boil is excellent and consistently flavorful. It’s my go-to seafood boil place in Arkansas.
The service is always good, and the décor and ambiance are inviting and well put together, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a meal.

Went between lunch and dinner, so it wasn’t busy. Immediately greeted and sat. I ordered a cocktail. It was very sweet and couldn’t tell if it had booze or not. If so, they just waved the bottle over it. Still tasty, just wanted a cocktail, not a juice.
Our waitress was great. We asked about the gumbo and were very specific. We are kinda gumbo snobs. She advised us we wouldn’t be happy with the gumbo, but guaranteed everything else was good.
We both got Shrimp No Heads 1 lb.Hubs also got a salad. It was a nice sized salad! They knocked it out of the park with the shrimp! It comes in a bag with corn and potato. Note: 1/2 lb only comes with broccoli instead, despite what the menu says. The shrimp was sliced and deveined, which was wonderful, It made it easy to peel-and no poop!
All together with tip it was around $75. But we were happy and full. So not bad. We even took home leftovers.

I searched for Black-owned Southern food and found Red Pier Cajun Seafood & Bar in Hot Springs. When we pulled into the parking lot, there weren’t many cars, but we figured it was just the lunch hour lull. Our waiter was cool and laid-back, which was great, and the drinks were excellent. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. I had been craving catfish all day, and my wife ordered the snow crab legs. We’re avid crab leg eaters, so we know what good crab should taste and look like. Today was definitely not the day for either the fish or the crab. The crab legs came out with green stuff on top (most likely because they weren’t washed properly), and on top of that, they had a strong fishy smell. My wife was not happy. As for my catfish? Total disappointment. I mean, there was no seasoning—not one flake of pepper. It was completely bland, and I just left all three pieces sitting on the tray. We paid for our meal, and when our server asked how everything was, all I could say was “Hey man, you were great.” I certainly wasn’t talking about the food or taste. My wife and I left hungry and ended up going to McDonald’s. Sorry, but we will not be back.

Not 1 to leave bad reviews because Red Pier is my favorite place to eat. But we are there last night and there was 4 of us. Between the 4 of us we were only brought 1 plastic utensil to rip the crab open and no crab crackers or silverware (plasticware) we ask for crab crackers and was brought just 1. Ask for more of the plastic things to rip the crab open and ask if we could have another cracker. The waitress informed us that was all that she could find. This is a seafood place. We were never ask if we wanted drink refills and had to go to the front to ask for a Togo bag. The food was great though. But took us quite awhile to eat because we had to wait to pass the crackers around
