It was very busy on Friday night. We were there around 10 pm. We noticed the cook scolding the waitress, more than once. When we asked the other waitress was the cook new she replied ” that’s the owner ” . Wow, couldn’t believe how rude he was to his servers. I understand it must be stressful to be the cook, but you really shouldn’t get on to someone where everyone in the restaurant can hear. It was a shame, the servers are so nice.

We are from Tennessee and state law says you cannot smoke in restaurants. We were surprised when we sat down and saw people smoking. The ceiling was stained with nicotine, and the ceiling was falling apart. After getting our drinks, our waitress forgot us. While we waited, 2 parties came in and left before ordering.
The food was ok. The restaurant was like Waffle House…all the way down to the menus, except that the lamination was falling off. Good music on the jukebox, though, and the prices were very reasonable.
If we are ever going through New Boston again, we will roll on by.
For some people, this may be the perfect spot, but not for us.

Here is another Texas gem when you’re traveling through or even staying in town. The vintage signage in front welcomes you to New Boston TX with a diner to rival any. I went with the daily special. Country Fried Steak with fries, toast and white gravy.
It was very good, and the toast worked perfectly to sop up the remaining gravy. The coffee was delicious and offered often for refill. The atmosphere 4 star was given as half the diner was enjoying the smoking section. While I think it was pretty cool and nostalgic, a 5 star for smoking may go against any good thinking. Still an amazing diner off I-30 and I’d recommend over any national chain looking for your business.

Food was good. Fries were hot and fresh, sandwich was good and hamburger. Service was good and the environment was welcoming. The place is old and needs repairs on the ceiling and could use some upgrades for sure. I have heard they allow smoking in this restaurant but I did not see anybody smoking. We will come back.

We both ordered the Real Man’s Breakfast with Hashbrowns scattered , smothered & covered. .
Our Waitress Jill was amazing & she had a shirt on from Honduras Harley Davidson, It’s her 1st day back on the job from spending a week in Honduras and loved it. So when she wasn’t super busy serving we had stuff to talk about.
You can also order up some tunes on the Juke Box or play Zambini.
Highly recommend this place and hope it makes the list for RTE-X-USA for 2025. Biker friendly. be warned the real man’s breakfast may add a nap down the road ❤️.
will be returning tomorrow for another go round.

I didn’t even notice this place until the wind shifted and the smell had me turning a circle looking for the source. I was a little skeptical at the greasy spoon look, inside and out, but the staff was friendly with lively chatter and laughter from the gals on the grill and I’m adventurous so what the hell ♀️… Tried the 2eggs and bacon plate with grits. Eggs were perfect over medium, grits weren’t lumpy or thin, but the BACON! 3 massive full slices, thick-cut, salty and so so so satisfying

It was the worst experience ever. Food was not good, wait staff not good, ordered a $6.50 sandwich my guest sandwich approximately same price. Waitress charged me $25 dollars. I am not sure of her math skills. Paid bill won’t be back ever.

Local diner with very good just like home made hamburgers and fries! Friendly staff. Only drawback is that 1/2 of dining area is smoking and have to walk through it to restrooms.

Smells a little smoky but the friendly staff and delicious food were perfect for a quick stop. Would definitely stop again. Everything was hot and fresh. Definitely would recommend the chicken fried steak and the patty melt.
