Refined Southern fare served in a comfortable, sophisticated room & bar with live music on weekends.

Was excited for a romantic Valentine’s weekend dinner at Twigs, We had 7:30 PM reservations and were seated immediately, which was a great start! However, the wheels fell off after that—it took a full hour for our food to arrive.
By the time the food showed up, I’d completely lost interest in the dessert I’d been dreaming about all day.
The Silver Lining: The food itself was actually delicious. The Oyster Orleanaise and the NC Shrimp Cocktail were fresh and perfectly prepared, and the Tomato Bisque was a highlight.
The Atmosphere: Classic, cozy mountain fine dining.
The Service: Seated quickly, but the kitchen or service pace was just too slow for a reservation-based dinner.
If you aren’t in a rush and just want to enjoy the ambiance, the food is worth it. But if you’re hungry… maybe grab a snack before you arrive!

Halfway through dinner, I suddenly realized where the name Twigs might come from — the charming twig handrails out front, the twig-inspired furniture in the lobby, and the elegant lighted twig partition dividing the dining room. The craftsmanship throughout the space is truly beautiful. I also loved the classic white tablecloth atmosphere — it gave the restaurant such an inviting fine dining feel.
Both of our meals began with the freshest salads. I absolutely loved the Gorgonzola walnut dressing, while my husband couldn’t stop raving about the Lusty Monk honey mustard — he said it was one of the best salads he’s ever had!
For our entrées, my husband ordered the venison chops, and they were divine. The chef’s creative combination of deer, blueberries, kale, and pimento cheese grits was incredible — such a thoughtful balance of flavors. My brown sugar–seared salmon was equally fantastic, and the zucchini ribbons were a perfect touch. All portions were huge!
Our cocktails — the Southern Belle Martini and the Blackberry Bourbon Smash — were both excellent. And a big shoutout to our wonderful servers, Matthew and Anna, who made the evening even more enjoyable with their attentive and friendly service.
This was our first visit to Twigs, but definitely not our last. We often visit the mountains, and this will be a must-stop spot from now on!

Took my wife here for her 40th birthday. We have never been here before. The ambiance was great and we loved the waitress. She was knowledgeable about the menu. I order the Joyce Farm chicken breast and I order the smashed potatoes instead of the vegetables. It came out with the smashed potatoes and some other kind of potatoes I never ordered and no purée. The chicken was so dry and no seasoning. It was no where near worth $30. Wife ordered the bow tie pasta with shrimp and it was good but nothing special. I probably wouldn’t go back given how expensive it is. I could have grilled a better chicken than what they make. Our bill was $70 before tip.

My husband and I went here on our first night while visiting the area. The atmosphere inside was very cute, perfect for a date. Although we liked what we ate. I had an extremely hard time finding anything to eat as a person with a gluten allergy. The menu was not labeled and the restaurant wasn’t very accommodating. The waiter only had one thing on the entire menu I could eat(a salad), and I added grilled salmon to it. We liked the taste of our meals, however, the portion sizes of the meals left us both hungry after.

Rustic meets fancy at this cute little restaurant in Blowing Rock. We didn’t have a reservation but we got there shortly after 5pm and were able to get a table on a Thursday night. The atmosphere is intimate and my husband and I enjoyed our experience. We started with the fried Brussel sprouts which had a dipping sauce that had a good flavor. My husband got the wild caught salmon and I got the filet mignon. The filet did have some chewy fat I had to cut off but it was good overall. We also got the Cesar salad with our meals. We finished with the Triple Chocolate cake and decaf espresso which were lovely. On Thursday nights the bar has a beer flight special so the bar was packed as soon as the doors open. They do have daily bar specials and a separate menu for the bar as well. Great place to check out for a nice date night.

Twigs is my favorite restaurant in Blowing Rock. My husband and I have dined here at least a dozen times. We have never been disappointed.
The restaurant is small and charming. White table cloths, candles and tables are not too close together. Congenial fellow diners and low to moderate noise level.
Wait staff always attentive. This trip our server was John and the host was Anna. Genuinely nice!
I love trout and the only place I will eat it is Twigs. Yes, I have had it at other upscale restaurants in Blowing Rock. No comparison.
My husband loves the beef entrees and he is a Ruth’s Chris fan. That in itself is testament to the quality.
We always make a reservation. Never had to wait. Our last visit was October 22, 2025. Only available time before 8:30 PM was 5:00.
We arrived around 4:50 and there was a queue waiting for the restaurant to open.
At 5:00 the restaurant opened and were seated in a few minutes.
Some had reservations for the dining room and others headed to the bar. No one was left waiting in the reception area. I mention this only because one review stated a long wait time to be seated. Twigs website states reservations are recommended. Website has the bar and dining room menu for review.
I hope you dine here and have a wonderful time!

We really enjoyed Twigs. The Fried Green Tomatoes were great, wedge salad, Lamb, and Tomato bisque…. ON POINT. I highly recommend this establishment! Also the service was superb. I forgot the waiters name, but he was attentive, and even told our daughter a bunch of jokes to make her laugh. All around a fantastic experience. The Creme bruele was delicious to really tie the night together.

A cozy atmosphere in a lovely spot.
Berlin was our server, so nice and accommodating. Unfortunately an oversight in communication meant they did not realize we were seated for about 20 minutes, we were very happy with their solution and overall a fantastic experience

Sincerely wanted this to be a good experience on our monthly date night but was unfortunately not… From the time we entered there was a sense of chaos. Nobody at the hostess stand and when the arrived physically appeared distraught. We offered to wait at the bar for our reservation and then was forgotten according to the hostess. The bartender demanded we cash out prior to moving to the table which is usual for a good establishment. Once arriving at out table, an elderly couple across from us that was seated 15 minutes ahead of us still hadn’t had contact with there server much less even offered water. We called out for another waitress to service our table and she was great. When the young man who should have waited out table showed.to the couple across 20 minutes later, scolded the couple for complaining because they where short staffed. When our food finally started to arrived course after course, it was awful. Anything fried tasted heavy of old oils… My wife returned hers to the kitchen entirely it was so bad. I would say to all who consider dinning here, avoid at all cost. Fast food would be a better experience entirely.

We decided to celebrate a birthday with our friends who had recommended Twigs. The food was delicious, and the presentation was impressive. My Petite filet was cooked perfectly Everyone enjoyed their choice. Our server Cole was awesome. Patient, attentive, a great sense of humor. Martinis were made as requested! A good selection of wine. We will definitely go back.
