12/29/2024 – amazing service, upbeat attitudes, served quickly and the food was spot on exactly what we needed to end the last Sunday of the year. Thank you for it all! Oh and went back in and ordered a blizzard thread was made perfectly!
Aug 25,2024: I updated my review from 1 star to top stars. I’ve never been contacted by an owner directly before so when I got contacted directly by the owner of this DQ 2mths ago I was impressed. She wholeheartedly felt bad we had the experience we did and asked to give this location the opportunity to make things right, and told me to txt or call her when ever we were planning on going back. I txt the owner today since we were in the area and when we got there they took care of us, no questions or hesitations, everyone had smiles and great attitudes. Our blizzards were full, held upside down and made exactly how they should be. Thank you again for being such a quick, responsive, caring owner! Brandy aka Firecracker Photography

June 2024: After driving 40 min to go to this DQ which is the closest to us we waited 14 min for 2 small blizzards (1 ultimate cookie and 1 brownie batter), when she handed us ours they weren’t even filled the regular size or near the top lip of the cup and they were blended so much neither of them had any chunks, they were almost pureed and mixed so much she couldn’t even tip them upside down like they’re supposed to because they were already melting. The pics I added are exactly how she handed them to us before we even touched our spoons. Order ID AACRUMAAACDJ & 6:49PM.

Our ice cream was melted, we opened the lid and it literally melted into our lap. The little boy at the window was laughing when we handed the meted ice cream back and asked for it to be remade. The little girl making the ice creams was laughing too. This was due to their lack of care and incompetence and a laugh was not warranted. These kids need better training and better attitudes. The owner obviously needs to sit there and baby sit the employees. Will never return and a waste of $20.

Tried to order at drive up window, kid could not talk only mutter, got to carryout window after waiting for sme time and kid tells me they don’t have any slushie???? Could they have just told me that while I was ordering at the window?? New mexico is old mexico with sales tax. Don’t need to visit this state ever again, take my tourist $$ somewhere else.

The Dairy Queen in Española is one of the best fast-food restaurants in the area if you like good-old fashioned American cheeseburgers, hamburgers and their french fries are made nice n crispy, not too much and the burgers, even their basic burgers/cheeseburgers are enough, with fries, to make you feel like you just had a real meal! Since it’s Dairy Queen, you have to order something from their ice cream/sundaes or shakes menu and they have a tasty variety. I ordered a vanilla cone dipped in chocolate and when your eating at Dairy Queen you seem to just have to eat your burger, fries and your ice cream/sundae/shake at the same time; it tastes great together, plus your soft drink, it’s an American fast food tradition and it’s nice there’s one still around in Española, about a 27 mile drive south from where my family and I live in Taos, where we don’t have a Dairy Queen.
Another menu item the D.Q. has that’s also an old-fashioned American fast food/burger tradition (that customers still love) are the Chicken Strips with their D.Q. white gravy and other chicken sandwiches, they also taste great with the D.Q. crunchy and delicious french fries. The customer service is great at this D.Q. in Española, the employees were friendly, knew their jobs and the cooks are Doing A Great Job of cooking the food perfectly! The dining room was clean and the only thing that was a bit of a problem was, for some reason, their restrooms were closed to the customers, this was about 5 pm on a weekday, so hopefully they get their restroom problem fixed and they will be really great!

Me and my husband visit DQ frequently since he loves the chicken strip baskets.. but, today when we visited after work and bought dinner for us both tonight the 2 young ladies we dealt with were extremely rude, and unprofessional. All my husband asked was if they added our drinks to the baskets instead of separately (it’s much cheaper when added to the baskets). What we got was the window slammed, rude and mean looks. The second girl changed the ticket, but she acted as if we were bothering her. We got our drinks and food handed to us in a strong manner, and more mean looks. I couldn’t believe it. We were nothing but nice to them. All we wanted was to be treated w respect and maybe a smile. We left upset and our dinner ruined.

DQ has clean and friendly service with its claim to fame being their ice cream based treats. For the food such as their burgers it seems like they are lacking a bit as I always feel less then full after having their $5 meal.
