My fiancé got the nachos and they tasted great. You just have to know in advance that they are massive. He ate half of it and had a mostly full box of leftovers.
Both my fiance and friend had a burger and they enjoyed the bread and how it was cooked. Juicy with a lot of flavor.
I had the apple pecan salad and it had great balance of veggies and dressing. Nothing was soaking or swimming dressing. Loved the candied pecans!! And the size of the salad was just right. The Thai Brussel Sprouts are awesome, the added mint is a great compliment to the Thai sauce.
Other positives to the restaurant:
-love the heat panels on the patio
-the wide selection of on tap beer looked great (didn’t try any this time)
-the space is very clean
The only critiques we had were the water (with and without ice) had a metallic taste to it. I asked the waitress if it was filtered and she said no. It was just a little strange to us. And I ordered a side of ranch dressing for my salad, which was an additional $2.00 (I am guessing they charged me because I had both the apple cider dressing and the ranch, but I thought $2.00 was a little expensive).
We highly recommend this place!!!
We also got the Cuban Cigars appetizer. This was interesting and I’m not sure how I felt about it. It was god, but interesting, worth a try if you like bacon.
All in all, I will probably be back, mostly because the pizza looked amazing and i want to try it.
I’m not sure what I was more impressed with, the food or the service!! Quality food makes a restaurant good, but quality staff on top of that is what makes a restaurant great. This was one of the best meals and dining experiences I’ve had in a long time.
Hats off to the kitchen, and our server Ryan! This will become a regular spot of ours.
I will give credit where credit is due, the pickle fries were fantastic along with the avocado ranch sauce (I think that’s what keeps me wanting to like District 37). Last time we ordered to go, my husband got a burger with no bun when the receipt said no mayo. When I called and spoke to the owner or manager (I can’t recall) he did try to justify the kitchens mistake but also kindly compensated the burger.
Overall, I understand the establishment is always pretty busy, it just always seems like the food is made rushed. The fries are always luke warm like they made a huge batch of fries and portioned them before the meals were ready. And they are unseasoned.
The owner or manager was standing by the door and thanked me for my business which was very much appreciated. I wish they took as much time to make the food properly as they did being so kind and courteous. I still would come back for the pickles fries. Pretty unbeatable.
Our party of 8 enjoyed our drinks and meals with the exception that one female in our group complained that her water tasted strongly of soap, so I tried it and it did indeed. It was undrinkable – bad. Told the server (who was a good server) but she seemed indifferent and basically ignored that feedback.
One person in our party, a child, can’t eat cheese, and they brought out her sliders with cheese on it, even though we specified. The poor girl sat there eating fries, we were almost all done by the time she got her refire.
My burger was good but only after I added salt and pepper, otherwise, even with the bacon jam, onions etc on it, it was so bland. I should clarify I am not one of those people who salts their food (I often add a dash of pepper). I got it pink and it was cooked perfectly, just not seasoned, at all. The bacon jam was good!
Dining experience: where we sat, we saw a heavy amount of staff just kind of hanging around our table (right near the kitchen). It was a bit awkward, lots of meandering.
However, it’s a nice spot, the parking kinda stinks, the intersection seems extremely dangerous. The prices are a little high but expected for the canal front area, I suppose. It’s a good addition and better than dockside. Remington is in a different league.
A welcomed pub style! Hope it continues to get business!
