We have come to the location on Veterans about 8 to 10 times now over the past year and we love it! The fried chicken is a little spicy, but just enough to be delicious! All of their sides are excellent. I have never had a bad one. I love the homemade pecan pie! They have a few others also and they offer kids meals as well. Atmosphere is casual and the music is always nice! The most attentive service as well!

Tastes just as good as their original TN location! We missed being near a Gus’s so this are us so happy! Food was spot on; crispy juicy chicken. All sides were top notch; we had beans, fries, greens, & mac-n-cheese. We also ordered fried pickles & green tomatoes. Both of those dishes were over fried and a little burnt but everything tasted fine. Will be back soon!

I had really high hopes for this world famous chicken and it did not live up to the hype. This was my first time trying this place while visiting New Orleans and I must say- I was a slightly disappointed. The greens were my favorite. The beans were too sweet – almost candied in a way so I did not take more than one bite. I personally ordered tenders but my family ordered the fried chicken peices. The chicken pieces were great. Fried to perfection. The tenders were mid, at best. Horrible mac and cheese. I didn’t get my jalapeños that I ordered/paid for although the assured me it was in the bag. The staff was cool, however and I would try it again next time I visit, so maybe update the rating. ♀️

Food is ok. Chicken is spicy…not you’ll need ice water but you may need something to drink. Service was ok, unremarkable at best. Atmosphere was boring and unimaginative, a cheap labor day chicken on the floor and a few pictures on the wall. Prices are decent. In a city like New Orleans/Metairie it was an ok experience. The chicken wings were fried hard and other than the heat/spice I really didnt think the chickens flavor stood out. Some radio music was played for entertainment in the background, again it was ok. The staff appeared to be dazed and unmotivated. The best thing was the corn fritters I ordered, again they were ok. The potatoe salad was sweet. ️ Curious, give it a try. I wont be back. I ordered i guess sink water with lemon and it tasted so funny I left it on the table after the tip.

The fried chicken is amazing, but they messed up my order. I paid for 3 pieces (in one plate) to go and reached my hotel and found 2 pieces in the box. Didn’t have the energy to drive back 15 mins. The girl at the counter was very pleasant and helpful, i guess it’s just my bad luck.

This is the 2nd time our office ordered from this location. The order was around $150, each time. And both times, we had a missing order! They were not able to deliver the missing order. So we had to drive another 20 mins to get the missing plate. We arrived and the food was still not ready. We waited another 10 mins. The cook seemed to be yelling at the staff. We then asked for an itemized receipt and were told that was impossible since we ordered via doordash. They suggested me taking a picture of their computer! Finally, he was able to figure it out. Lastly, what chicken place doesn’t have BBQ sauce?! Plus the honey mustard has way too much horseradish in it. The chicken is slammin but absolutely not worth the hassle. Maybe try another location?! Customer service is dead.

First-time visitor: franchise DNE in my country. I read the reviews before choosing to eat here. And whoever said the chicken tenders were ‘meh’ was on crack. These were the largest, juiciest and most perfectly spiced tenders I have ever had. I couldn’t even finish all three of them.
Reviews seem to be split between people who think the spice level is too high and those who think it’s just right or barely there. My son (who has very little spice tolerance) and I (a pepperhead) somehow both thought the heat was Just Right.
And the sides! The mac and cheese is pure carb umami, the deep-fried okra was yummy, and the collard greens were tender and flavourful.
Waitress was pleasant and attentive, with a good sense of service and humor.
Deserves the World Famous tag, and worth going out of your way for.
