A very small restaurant with AMAZING moles! I always knew Oaxaca has various types of moles but had really only tasted a couple different styles. This establishment has at least a half dozen and all are amazing! If you like moles, you will NOT be disappointed. The only real problems are the few tables and parking can be a challenge but both are well worth the challenge. (The price was for 2)

I cannot express enough how delicious and life changing my meal was.

I ordered the Chile en Nogada which is an incredibly complex and aromatic dish of stuffed poblano pepper filled with pork, beef, plantain, peach, pear, apple, and raisins topped with a equally complex and aromatic white sauce made from walnuts and almonds with a sprinkling of fresh pomegranate seeds.

The dish itself came with rice, beans, and a mix of fresh lettuce and tomato. The beans were incredible which I find is often not the case in most Mexican restaurants I’ve tried in the states (best beans are often found in the home) but this restaurant delivered some of the best cooked beans I’ve had in my life. The rice as well was delicious and well prepared.

Along with the Chile en Nogada, I also ordered the Tamarindo agua fresca that was made fresh (not the packaged mix) and was the perfect blend of sour and sweet and so worth it.

Those who came with me ordered the carnitas tacos which they were equally impressed by.

The table also shared their chips and salsa appetizer and it was simple and delicious as well.

I’ll be back anytime I’m up in Santa Fe whether that be for pleasure or for work.

And don’t let price discourage you from having the experience. The complexity of the dish brings an understanding of where the price comes from and the taste will make you forget you even had to pay for the experience.

To note: the picture doesn’t give justice to how truly wonderful this dish is.

The menu is really different to the typical Mexican food you get in the southwest. It says, it is authentic southern Mexican cuisine. We loved the different choices and our vegetarian daughter was very happy that they offered vegetarian/vegan options. Small place with friendly owner and service. Normal prices. Parking in the streets nearby.

This place is the place to go for excellent authentic Oaxacan food. We tried 3 different moles and each one was unique and extremely flavorful. Service was terrific and the atmosphere welcoming. So glad we had the opportunity to experience this place.

Wasn’t really into the food, but it’s probably my fault. I ordered the mole oaxaca, received the mole rosado(I think, based on the color), but decided to just eat it because it’s something new, why not! It didn’t really taste like anything. The rice and beans were flavorful and delicious though, so I figure they have some good dishes, just maybe not the mole rosado.

Four of us enjoyed Fiesta Oaxaca. We shared a sample of 5 moles, which were all very interesting and tasty. We also enjoyed enchiladas with various moles and some wonderful quesadillas- the Huitlacoche quesadilla in particular was delicious. Not a fancy place. But pleasant and with attentive and friendly service. We’ll come again.

Guacamole is excellent. I went here for lunch. Service was prompt. The atmosphere is quaint. indoor and out door seating. I ordered chips with guax and salsa. salsa were quite watery and the chips a little stale. Guacamole was superb! I had the three taco option and picked steak, carne, and chicken. carne and chicken were outstanding. steak was so so… a bit dry. Corn tortillas were done well, and thin. tasted fresh. Iced tea was good. only offered 2 desert options, (tres Leche and flan) I opted for a black coffee only. parking is paid street parking or parking garage nearby (the El Dorado hotel a block away allows paid public parking during day only. overnight is for guests only).
It was a bit pricey for what it was. all.in all the bill came to $42 just for me. I’d have tried another dish if I had time as I think the restaurant has potential.

Food is very distinct and had different flavor combinations than what I am used to. Very tasty, but more expansive than your usual tex-mex. Highly recommend but probably not a good place for kids or picky eaters.

Decor is as different as the flavor. It’s very small and that might turn people off, but they really pack people in.

The party next to me had trouble communicating with the waiter. And since they only have one waiter and the restaurant filled up, service wasn’t very attentive.

I’m not often compelled to leave a google review but this place is amazing. I live in Houston TX which has a lot of great Mexican restaurants, but this place is better than all of them. Great vegan options too! Mole is incredible.
