Hole in the wall spot with friendly service and good food for a good price.
I usually stop by once a week or so for one of the dinner plates that comes with rice and soup for around $15. Lots of options like beef and broccoli, kung pao chicken and more traditional Chinese dishes as well

The place was small cramped but the food is worth it but I recommend to take out because inside the place smells like fried food

Hidden gem in South San Jose. American Chinese food? Great choice. Traditional Chinese? Great choice too!

I went out of my way to try to come here for the first time today and I could see several people inside the restaurant preparing food. As I approached, I could see a handwritten sign that said ‘Closed’ and what looked like Wednesday 1/28 (I looked at my phone to confirm that it was indeed Tuesday 1/27). I opened the door, and a lady SCREAMED at me “CLOSED! CLOSED!” while shooing me away.

Ok. Cool. I won’t be coming here today, or ever. Thanks.

Mongolian beef had broccoli in it – that was a first. Ordered hot and sour soup and it was okay. The egg rolls were GOOD that was the highlight of the order. Place looks like it’s been there for a long time but a nice clean up would be better but not a regular place for me for Chinese food.

We were sorry to see the original owners go. She was a sweetheart. We were happy to find the food is as equally delicious and in some case better.

Been coming to Tea Garden for over a decade. It’s my go to Chinese in the neighborhood. Good portions good food at a reasonable price served hot n fresh faster than any drive-thru fast food place. Combo plates gotta be the deal of century $10 for three dishes in one to-go container. Family owned and zero frills. I’d suggest pick up take home or pick up and head to the park up the street.

Our Favorite place to get Chinese food.
My Sons and I Love the Tea Garden.
We have been going their since the Fongs owned it (it seems like so long ago) and continue to go after they sold it.
Food is still the best.
Matt and I make sure to order something at least twice a month .
They know us and know what we will order and she will always ask me if I want something that I’d normally order but didnt.
