We’ve eaten here twice in the last two weeks. The first time was to try it out, and it was so good we had to return shortly after. The service both times was fantastic and the menu has a lot of different options that you don’t see too often. The first time, I had the Havana bowl and my wife had cornbread eggs Benedict. The second time we took friends and had loco moco, chorizo biscuits and gravy, and an omelet. Everything was good except for the chorizo gravy. Two of us ordered it and expected the usual southern gravy with chorizo instead of regular sausage. Instead, the gravy was brown and greasy. Neither of us finished it. Too bad. Next time we’ll get something else. Parking is limited on weekends in the front, but there are extra spaces around back.

My first time here, the service was awesome and the food was amazing! The smash burger is a must and the fried plantains drizzled with honey was absolutely delicious! Give them a try, you will not be disappointed!

Rather than fighting the crowds on a Friday night at Emerald Isle, we made the short drive to Swansboro after seeing so many great reviews for By the Bridge.
For starters, the location is great with beautiful views of the water. There is plenty of outdoor seating if you are traveling with a pet. Our server was fantastic. She checked on us frequently and gave us recommendations from their menu.
The food quality was good. The Grouper Bites were our favorite of the items we tried. The Rice and Beans that came with each dish were also very good. We ordered the Fried Plantains as an appetizer, but because of their sweetness, decided to enjoy them as a dessert.
For a quieter spot with a less traffic than EI, this place is worth the drive.

Right on the water with indoor and outdoor seating. It really is just at the end of the bridge and the turn into the parking area can be easy to miss. Atmosphere is relaxed and family friendly.
We ordered loaded tots, wings and yucca to start and all of them were delicious. The super bowl with brisket and hash, bacon egg & cheese smash burger and chorizo biscuits and gravy were all quite excellent. Portions are good size and we even had to take home some of the food.
Service was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely go back if opportunity arises. Highly recommended!

The food was ok, but although the fried food did not look overcooked and the texture was fine, there was a burnt oil taste to all of it that made it difficult to eat. The calamari looked great but the burnt flavor didn’t let us eat much, and I didn’t like that it was already tossed in some of the sweet sauce since that makes it sticky and soggy and I like more savory flavors with seafood. I would have asked for it just on the side, but I didn’t know it would be served with so much on it already. I built myself a BLT and the fried green tomatoes were good aside from the same slight burnt oil flavor that fortunately did not come through as much with these. The bread was pretty dry, but the different aiolis and sauces they had were all tasty. My husband liked his dish, and his potatoes were good and didn’t have a burnt fryer taste to them. We ate outside because it was very loud and crowded inside. The outdoor area was quiet and chill, but the service was a bit slower out there, as you might expect.

The food was really good and the service was quick and friendly. I don’t live over here and my Husband and I are celebrating our 1 year anniversary so it was really nice for the occasion, however the atmosphere only gets a 4 because it was just very loud.

First time here and it won’t be our last. We got a taste of everything. Tacos, chicken, jambalaya, burgers, grouper.. everything was so delicious. The waitress was busting her butt taking care of the bar and the tables in the restaurant while also be timely with everything and being very sweet. It’s a small place but I’d wait for food here. Can’t wait to try other things on the menu.

By the Bridge, conveniently located close to Hwy 24, waterview, small town vibe. We went for breakfast in the middle of the week. Parking was no problem, and we were seated within minutes. This is a small but very unique place! Their breakfast menu has a little bit of everything. We were a group of 6, and from looking at everyone’s plate, they enjoyed their breakfast as much as I did. I had the avocado toast with egg and salsa. Even though I am used to a poached egg when having avocado toast, the fried egg was not bad. Everything was super fresh and tasty.

Kind, attentive, delicious food. Helpful with our kids and getting their food out first. Loved the Cobb salad and curry – fried green tomatoes and plantains were great too. High quality chicken tenders for the kids too
