Trattoria Pina exceeded our expectations! The food was OUTSTANDING – every dish was delicious and bursting with authentic Italian flavors. The service was absolutely fantastic! Our server was attentive, friendly, and made sure our big group (18 people!) felt right at home.
Plenty of parking available. Definitely reserve early if you’re planning a big group – we were glad we did!
Overall, a top-notch Italian experience. We’ll be back!

We made reservations and were seated right away even though we were about 15 minutes to early. The wait staff was attentive without being pesky and very polite. Four of us had four different dishes and all were excellent. The bread was mmmmm good. Two desserts were ordered Cannoli (two per order) and Tiramisu. The three Italians (I’m not Italian and thought it was excellent) raved about the authenticity of the food and desserts. The owner stopped by the table and visited with us. We were not rushed. Very enjoyable meal and evening.

Wonderful Italian restaurant and from an ex-NYer that says a lot. If you’re looking for a legit delicious Italian place in Tucson, this is the one. It is family owned & operated and the feel is casual and lovely. If you have yet to try it, I recommend going, you won’t be disappointed.

My husband and I joined 6 friends at Trattoria Pina. We ordered a pasta dish described as: Penne, asparagus, mushrooms, red roasted peppers, spinach, in a pesto cream sauce. Price: $27.00. As asparagus and mushrooms are the first two ingredients after Penne, we were hoping the dish would be a nice vegetarian entrée. It was mainly just pasta in a creamy sauce. ONE piece of asparagus about ¼ inch long in my portion, and a couple mushrooms. My husband showed our waiter his veggie-less plate of penne and asked him to add in the asparagus. The server returned and said that if we wanted asparagus, we would have to pay an additional charge. The manager, without an apology, proceeded to tell my husband that they measured out 2 spears of asparagus and the veggies per plate, and we probably just couldn’t see it in our meal. We can’t see them? Really?? High price to pay for food you can’t see!
Needless to say, we will not be going back to Trattoria Pina’s. I would suggest that the manager read “Unreasonable Hospitality” as we feel that she handled the situation poorly and lost all 8 of us as customers. We will definitely tell our friends and fellow pickleball players how disappointing our meal was.

We had a nice dinner here. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. There’s a good selection of food choices. They have a full bar. Our waiter was friendly and attentive but we never felt like we were being rushed. Both of our meals were really good as well as our dessert. The restaurant is easy to find and there was plenty of parking. Can definitely recommend.

I need to start by communicating on the desserts, we had the chocolate cake and the strawberry shortcake. The main course was very good. I had the salmon which was well prepared and presented.

My husband and I came here for lunch last week. We were seated next to the big window in front of the mountain view which made the experience even better. The waitress was very kind and helpful. The food was delicious and very authentic, especially the dessert. The tiramisù was one of the best I have ever had and the espresso was also very well made. We would definitely recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Wow, this was a great Italian restaurant option that must just go overlooked since it is near-ish to La Encantata and similar restaurants there.
Trattoria Pina is tucked away across from the grocery store and not too noticeable from the street. They were ~70% full on a Saturday evening and could take walk-ins, though after eating there I’m surprised that they aren’t packed. The atmosphere inside is calm and well designed to keep dining areas quiet and noise separated between tables.
The focaccia bread came out nice, warm, fresh, and fluffy and with an oil dip (though this could’ve used spices). The minestrone soup and dinner salad were very tasty as well. The soup hearty and well seasoned. The spicy garlic gnocchi was very pillowy and not necessarily spicy. The ravioli was very tasty as well.
Would definitely recommend giving this place a try!
