I had such a great experience at the downtown Salem location of Straight From New York Pizza! Daniel was so welcoming and sweet from the moment we walked in. He made us feel right at home and had such a positive attitude the entire time. The pizza was not only AMAZING, but also super affordable — you really can’t beat the quality for the price. Fresh, flavorful, and seriously some of the best pizza in Salem. We’ll definitely be coming back!

I liked my pizza from the Commercial Street location better. I ordered the Margherita one twice, once from this location and once from the one on Commercial St. That one was infinitely better! This location is tiny too! I mean really small! My Grandson and I barely fit side by side down the aisle. He’s only three years old so its not like he takes up much space lol. The service was great at this location though. Very friendly.

Been visiting periodically for 30 years. Music is nice and seating is bar style with outside seating available. Pizza is very good and authentic style but a bit pricey. Restrooms are barely adequate which is forced by the very confined location. Soda selection is very limited. Has expanded to two new locations which can deliver via at least Door dash.

Really can’t go wrong here. Whole giant pies on Monday for half what “fancy pizza” sells for? These are delicious, and the vegetarian (which I normally don’t go for) is over the top!

Excellent pizza. Good price, a perfect crispy crust. Gotta love a pizza joint that not only has red pepper and parm available, but a shaker of oregano too. Will be back next time I’m in town.

I’m from the East coast tri-state area and this is some of the best, most similar to NY-style pizza I’ve tried on the west coast!
Very good pizza, prices, & cozy NY-style seating.

This place looks and feels just like a New York pizzeria! The pizza was as close as we have had to original New York Pizza since we have been out here! The veggie and Hawaiian were absolutely excellent!

Keeps it humble, keeps it simple, and it keeps me coming back. Their appeal is punctuated by their friendliness. Delicious, thin and plentiful pizza – there isn’t a whole lot that needs to be explained.

You pick your options. As of this writing, they accommodate indoor and outdoor seating, however limited and “cozy” – not “cramped,” but room enough to enjoy a quick meal and a piece of calm from an otherwise stressful and busy world, if only for a few bites.

Their by-the-slice pizza keeps people coming back through their doors, and – from personal experience – their delivery is also a delicious draw. As a frequent enjoyer, I prefer their approach over most other bigger players in town.

Their menu caters to all appetites and sensibilities. But it’s the down-to-earth quality that keeps me coming back. 10/10, this pizzeria is doing it right.

This pizza place is absolutely filthy. But don’t take my word for it, just look at the photos I took. These are a small sampling of the egregious violations I noticed packed into this small space. I can’t even imagine what the back of house ingredient storage looks like. I also didn’t get a picture of the worst part, the flies. When I went in there were a half dozen flies buzzing around the tables, the kitchen counter area. It looks like it hasn’t been cleaned in weeks. Dust, dirt, grime, food residue, and mystery stains galore decorate the restaurant from floor to ceiling.

The actual food itself, not bad. The crust was crispy, it’s better than chain pizza like dominoes but then again it’s also quite a bit more expensive. Considering the food alone, it is just barely worth the price. There are better options in Salem.

This brings me to the second problem. It took 50 minutes for my order to be ready. And I wasn’t exactly here at rush hour, there was one other couple in the restaurant. I have no idea what took so long, but it took nearly an hour to get a basic menu pizza. That’s really not acceptable for a place that makes nothing but pizza. We weren’t warned about any kind of longer than usual wait times, so I guess if you go here expect to wait 45-60 minutes if you order a fresh pizza, longer of they are busy. If you’re in a hurry, they can brush the flies off the stale pizza sitting out and warm you up a slice. I only recommend one person visit this restaurant in the near future, and that is the health inspector.

This has been my favorite pizza place in Salem/Keizer for over 10 years. Thin crust (crunchy but not too hard), delicious toppings, and great customer service. And they have honey for the crust! I love sitting outside when the weather is nice, but they have cozy, diner-like seating inside as well. I will forever recommend this place to everyone who listens!
