First time stopping in and the atmosphere was welcoming and clean but cold, temperature wise. The pizza was delicious although not cut all the way through. We enjoyed our pizzas but the wings were a little disappointing. The flavor was good but the disappointment came from how the wings were cooked. They almost tasted boiled and not quite fried. We sent them back to have them cooked crispier but yeaaa it didn’t help. However, the flavors were spot on. Now the bigger complaint was about the fact that our waitress left for the day and well we didnt know it lol It was her first day and in training but management should have instructed her how to just say something to her guests BEFORE leaving at the end of her shift. All in all. Id recommend the Pizza

The beer I wanted had just been tapped so it couldn’t be served. I was super bummed, and the one I went with just did not measure up. Pretzel was good. Both mustard and beer cheese were yummy. Wings were so spicy and super large. The pepperoni pizza was heavenly and that cheese pull was so rewarding. There was a mix up at ordering but they were super quick to take care of it and even gave us the delicious pizza at a discount which was great service. Good meal and the music was super enjoyable.

We hosted a retirement party for 25 guests at Southern Roots and had a wonderful experience. The manager was extremely helpful and made sure all our food was ready for us at the scheduled time. The bartender was very friendly and provided great service. We were really impressed with the food, service, and atmosphere.

My family and I tried this place for the first time, and wow the pizza is absolutely delicious! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the customer service was top-notch. We’ll definitely be back. Our favorite pizza is the Southern Belle ~ highly recommend!

Welcome to Killeen, Southern Roots!!! This family owned establishment has proven track records of great beer, pizza, and breweries. We stopped in for Oktoberfest and enjoyed the live polka band, several cold beers, and some DELICIOUS pizza. The music trivia nights are also a great time. Make sure to check this place out the next time your out and about. You can also find their beer at your local HEB.

Went for the first time for lunch on Father’s Day & glad I did.
Food was amazing as was the beer. We got the BBQ pizza & mango Habanero wings paired with the wheat ale.
It’s great they restored this historic store & are being a part of our downtown rebuilding. Love that they even kept the painting on the building & used it in their branding too. They even kept the old elevator too, so cool.
10/10 would recommend & will be returning.

Ran by this place a couple of times and stopped to check it out. Seems to be one of the initiatives to redefine down town Killeen. If other businesses maintain this same type of energy then there is a promising future for down town Killeen. I tried a couple of the beers and highly recommend the Hawksbill. It’s a smooth IPA that isn’t overly hoppy. If that doesn’t work for your palette then check out the honey lager. The southern belle pizza was recommended and it was absolutely delicious. If you are the type that avoids chains, support local business and want a solid new spot for food and a drink, stop in here.

I had such a great evening at Southern Roots Brewing! We went for their ‘80s Bingo night and it was an absolute blast the trivia was fun, the atmosphere was lively, and people were up dancing and singing along. The beer selection is solid, and I really appreciated how generous they were with samples (though I do wish they offered a flight option). Overall, it’s such a fun and welcoming place to spend a night out. I can’t wait to come back.

Very relaxing place! The staff (Dorian/ Dustin/ Krystal) were amazing!!! Pizza (El Diablo + chicken) and beer (Hawksbill Hazy IPA) on point!!! Must have for mid-day “snack”!!!

The food was nothing to write home about not going to lie the pizza was ok but a little under cooked for it to be one their specialty pizzas so you would think that by now they know how long to cook it. We had three different kinds of wings (mango habanero, bbq and lemon pepper) out of the three only the lemon pepper was really tolerable, the two with sauce barely had any sauce on them, so in all the weren’t that good. The atmosphere was ok welcoming. They had a nice selection of games though which was great. But if subpar almost okay food is your thing then this is the spot for you.
