I’ve had several issues at this Starbucks before, but today was the final straw, and I decided to leave a review after speaking with the general manager, Tara.
I went through the drive-thru and ordered an iced sugar cookie latte and a sandwich. The sandwich was fine, but the drink wasn’t made correctly. When I asked them politely to remake it, the staff had an attitude. They handed it back to me and assured me it had cinnamon—yet when I drove off and started drinking it, it clearly did not.
I called the store to let the manager know what happened. From the start, she was defensive. Everything was calm until I mentioned that, as a paying customer, I expect my drink to be made the way I ordered it. At that point, she accused me of “yelling” at her, even though my tone hadn’t changed.
For context, I’m partially deaf, so I naturally speak a bit louder—but I was absolutely not yelling. I was speaking in the same tone the entire time. She then became unprofessional and reluctant to refund my money, even though I told her I was bringing the drink back. Eventually, she told me to call corporate for a refund instead.
At that point, it wasn’t about the $14—it was about the lack of professionalism and accountability. This location consistently acts defensive whenever a customer raises a concern, no matter how politely it’s brought up. It’s disappointing, because customers should never be made to feel like they’re the problem for asking to have their order made correctly.
I hope the management team reflects on how they handle feedback, especially Tara. Being professional means listening, not getting defensive, and certainly not accusing someone of yelling when they’re simply trying to explain an issue. Sadly, I won’t be returning to this Starbucks again.
When we went to pay, she very rudely reminded my husband to scan the QR code, and seemed confused when we wanted to finish a gift card and pay the rest with our credit card and gave back the empty gift card that we asked her to throw away. The only good thing about this experience was our drinks and we will be picking any other Starbucks next time.
