I had been craving pupusas for quite a while—almost made them at home—when a friend recommended this Salvadoran spot. Since I was going to be in the area, I decided to give it a try.

I’ll admit, the pupusa was much larger than I expected. The beans were creamy, the cheese was perfectly melted, and the outer bread had a nice crisp while still being moist inside—not too dry at all. I personally would’ve liked a slightly sweeter sauce to pair with it, and the slaw had more vinegar than I prefer, but I did appreciate the acidic balance.

I also ordered the seafood gumbo, which had good flavor overall. The shrimp, unfortunately, was overcooked and rubbery, and the broth was a bit heavy on the salt. I would’ve liked to see more variety in the shellfish, but it still hit the spot.

Final thoughts: You come here for the food—not the atmosphere. The place is simple and unassuming, but if you’re in the mood for Salvadoran comfort food, it’s worth a visit. I wouldn’t drive across town for it, but I’d definitely eat here again if I’m in the area.

Get the fried corn tamale. Get 2. They’re so delicious!
We met family and friends there in a Thursday night. There was plenty of room for all 16 of us. Most people were picking up to go. If I lived closer I would be here every week.
The place isn’t fancy but the food is very good. I had a plate with a pupusa, corn tamale & fried plantains… One of my uncles had the chicken plate that came cut up in pieces mixed with beautiful veggies (zucchini +). He said it was very good. Our least favorites were the boudan balls and the stuffed jalepenos that came on the seafood plate.
The price per plate averaged $7 – $10
It will be one of our regular places to have family night.

Title: A Pleasant Surprise for the Taste Buds

While the decor and ambiance of this restaurant may be average, the food it offers brings a delightful surprise. With affordable prices and delicious dishes, it is truly a hidden gem. Among the various options, my personal favorite is their beef soup.

The beef soup is a delightful combination of flavorful vegetables and tender beef. The broth is clear, sweet, and incredibly tasty. It’s a comforting bowl of goodness that warms both the stomach and the soul.

Another must-try is their Mexican burrito, available with either chicken or fish. The combination of the juicy meat, tangy lemon, and spicy chili sauce creates a burst of flavors in every bite. To complement the meal, I highly recommend trying their grape-flavored soda, which adds a refreshing touch.

In conclusion, this restaurant offers a great dining experience with its affordable prices and delicious food. While the decor might not be exceptional, the flavors of their dishes speak for themselves. Don’t miss the opportunity to try their beef soup and the mouthwatering Mexican burrito. This place truly embodies the concept of offering quality at an affordable price.

Most of our food lacked flavor. The pupusas were delicious. But the tortillas that cane with my meal were stale and seem to have been sitting for a while. I couldnt eat the edges cause they were so hard. We waited for 30 minutes for our food. A table came and sat down 30 minutes after we had arrived and they go there food. We still had to wait for a while for ours. I had to ask about our food cause I found it odd to wait over 30 minutes for my order

Extremely Disappointed – Authentic Flavors, Dangerous Quality Control
I was initially thrilled to find a place with authentic Salvadoran food that reminded me of home, but my recent experience has been both disappointing and concerning.
On Saturday, 2/14, I ordered 3 chicken tamales. As someone from El Salvador who grew up eating tamales, I know exactly how they should taste. Unfortunately, these were clearly spoiled and had a distinct acidic taste. I called and spoke with the manager, Santos, to alert him so they wouldn’t accidentally get anyone sick. He apologized and offered me a credit for three tamales.
I followed up on Sunday, 2/15, to see if the issue had been resolved before picking up my replacement order. Despite being told it was handled, the new tamales were even more spoiled than the ones from the day before. When I called Santos back to let him know the batch was still bad, he simply hung up on me.
It is clear this establishment cares more about making a sale than the well-being of their customers or basic professional courtesy. To be treated this way after trying to help them avoid a health safety issue is unacceptable. I will not be returning.

I was disappointed with the preparation of our pupusas today. The mixed pupusas were extremely soggy and stuck together, making them difficult to separate and unappetizing to eat. I’m sharing this feedback (along with images) in hopes it helps the team improve the quality and consistency of their food

This place is a hidden gem. Try the pupusa de loroco for an authentic experience. The food is always stellar, truly delicious!! They have Cajun food as well, lots of seafood options (including fried oysters ), burger fries and drink for $6.50, and cheaper kids meals than fast food that are significantly better. Spanish speaking staff but they do speak English. Desserts are yummy too. It’s truly a more hole in the wall atmosphere, but I’m giving it 5 stars there as well because it’s certainly not hidden and definitely a part of the appeal. Check them out.

We ordered two pupusas, the bean and cheese one and the chayote and cheese one. Piping hot, fresh, delicious, and literally $3.74 for two decently sized pupusas. Absolute delicious and unbeatable value. Can’t recommend this highly enough!
