The texture was all wrong. It was thin and soupy, almost like it had been mixed with water instead of cheese sauce. There was no flavor—none of the comforting, savory, cheesy taste that makes this dish worth ordering in the first place. It was bland, sloppy, and honestly felt like someone didn’t care enough to prepare it correctly. For the price Panera charges, this level of carelessness is simply unacceptable.
What’s even worse is that I’ve been a loyal Panera customer for years, so I know what this dish is supposed to taste like. I’ve had it countless times before, and this was not even close. It’s frustrating to pay for food that is supposed to be a higher quality option, only to receive something that feels rushed and completely disregards the standards that Panera advertises.
This isn’t just a minor issue—it’s a reflection of the management and kitchen standards at this location. If food this poorly prepared is being served, then there is a serious quality control problem. It’s not right for paying customers to receive something so unappetizing, and it’s clear that no one double-checked this order before it was handed to me.
I am extremely dissatisfied and honestly disgusted with how bad this experience was. It has completely shaken my trust in Panera. If this is the level of care and quality that’s going to be allowed, then I don’t see myself returning anytime soon. Panera needs to take accountability, improve their kitchen standards, and make sure customers are actually getting what they’re paying for. Until then, I will be warning others about my experience and taking my business elsewhere.
This is instead a review of the service, atmosphere, and ambience. Or should I say the lack there of.
Dining at this Panera, Sunday, October 12, 2025 at 6 PM was the single worst experience I’ve ever had in my entire life.
I have never once written a Google review, negative or positive. And yet here I find myself a 20 year-old male needing to be a Karen. I’ve been insulted, mistreated, and wrongfully neglected at this restaurant. Upon walking in the woman at the counter rudely screamed can I help you. Clearly, we were looking at the menu and we were happy to be dining there. But our faces quickly changed and our smiles quickly dropped as the woman at the front counter repeatedly asked can I help you again and again.
After we ordered we made our way to find a seat. The dining area was less than stellar. Crumbs and pieces of food were scattered across the floor and hid in corners. We even felt the need to wipe our own table before we sat down, which I understand is common behavior, but with the lack of customers in the building, I guess it would be expected that the place would be cleaner. The wait for our food was not too long however, upon receiving it, it was made clear that the woman who took her order was neglectful of our experience. She did not ask us whether we wanted chips or a baguette with our meal. She did not ask us if we wanted it for here or to go. Part of the experience of going to Panera in the first place is eating a bowl of soup. Not a paper cup that cost eight dollars filled with microwaved soup.
So I grabbed my bag of food and made my way to the dirty table. Sat down and started realizing that the broccoli cheddar soup wasn’t as hot as it should be. And our sandwiches were made sloppily. I have no complaints to the food prep people, as they are simply making the orders they have on the screen. But when I heard who I assumed to be the general manager talking to them, I was utterly disgusted with the way he spoke. He was rude to his workers, and if I had someone talking to me like that, I would quit on the spot. I had gone up to get another bowl of broccoli cheddar because one was simply not enough, After all the paper cup is only half filled anyway. She was equally as rude to me, if not more the second time around.
I almost wanted to ask this young lady, Why are you so rude to us? What have we done? You could easily be replaced by a computer and the only reason you are here is to be warm and inviting. And yet you have failed to do your only task.
Past experiences I’ve had at this Panera have been subpar. But this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. If someone is rude to me like this again at any establishment ever, I will simply walk out because this was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life.
