At our Springfield, TN location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Hadn’t eaten at Captain D’s in a very long time, mainly because I don’t usually eat fish. My wife does though, and my mother-in-law kept talking about how good the fish is there, so we decided to give it a try.
I ordered the chicken tenders and they were excellent. Crispy, fresh, and really flavorful. My wife ordered the fish and said it was just as good as everyone claims. She loved it.
We’ll definitely be coming back. The only reason I gave the atmosphere four stars instead of five is because the booth seats were cracking and could use some updating. Other than that, it was a great experience and a great place to eat.

I have eaten at Captain D’s my entire life. I’m 51 years old. When I say that the captain D’s in Springfield Tennessee has done something magical because they are turning out the best food I’ve ever eaten from any Captain D’s in my life. I’ve never called a restaurant back to say that the food was excellent until tonight. The fries were the best fries. I think I’ve ever had in my entire life from anywhere tonight. Hush puppies were so crispy and so light… It was like a crispy, puff of really good air or something. Hahaha! So good!! Chicken strips were incredible. The fish was flaky and cooked to perfection. Whoever is managing, cooking, and working at this store – you are doing a phenomenal job!!!

First off the lady up front . Wonderful no complaints. I ordered 10 fish and 15 shrimp. Fish was stupid hot and fresh. Complaint is 1/2 shrimp was cold like legit not even serving tempt. And 4 of them the batter wasn’t even done where they stuck together in the fryer.

In a world of washed-up, half-assed, Captain D’s, this one still shines like a city on a hill. You can still get a high quality, well priced, great tasting meal from this fish house. Everything was made fresh, was piping hot, and quieted that growling monster in my gut. The two piece meal was more than I could eat for lunch and I actually took what was left to go in a box. This team set a new bar for Captain D’s all around the country. Keep up the good work Springfield!

I prefer seafood over beef or pork so Captain Ds just fit right. We’ve been to 3 states today on the road. This is the cleanest Captain Ds I’ve encountered. And grilled salmon is available while others it’s almost always out. Counter person is also polite and friendly and plated meal is presented neatly
