Just a Helena Guy
My family and I went out to eat at the lady chance casino and the overall the experience was fine, but we were very disappointed to see a mandatory tip added to the bill without any prior notice. This was never mentioned by the server, posted clearly, or explained until we received the check. When I noticed it on the bill, I waved down our waitress natalie, and asked her what the service charge was. At first she act confused and played dumb, then she said well it’s a service charge for our table of six or more, in a somewhat of a condescending voice. Then I asked what is the service charge for. She said well it’s a tip because most people with larger tables don’t tip enough.. and I promise that is what she said I’m not embellishing it or making it up. Don’t get me wrong, both myself and my family are really good tippers and we believe in tip and based on service. She more than likely would have got more than this $19.70 tip if it wasn’t mandatory. And I almost didn’t even notice it on the bill, as I hardly ever look over the itemized bill but I just happened to do so tonight. If she didn’t say anything, she would more than likely have gotten a $50 tip. I just want other people to be paying attention to their bill when they go out and making sure a service charge isn’t thrown in there without them being warned.
I believe tipping should be transparent and communicated upfront. Adding a mandatory gratuity without informing customers feels misleading and leaves a bad impression, regardless of the food or service.
If there is a mandatory tip policy, it should be clearly stated before ordering so guests can make an informed decision. Unfortunately, this experience made us feel uncomfortable and takes away from what should have been an enjoyable family meal.

Asked for a pop from the bartender. I let her know i was gambling she said that doesn’t mean I can get a complimentary pop and I would have to pay for it. I’ve worked there years ago calling keno dealing poker waaitressing and barbtending. I don’t know if something bad happened or if they bar tender was just having a bad day. Because I don’t know a single place that does not have or even off the machine players a drink. On top of everything I guess she didnt want me to have a pop because she sure didnt bring it to me. How ever the waitress did. But stated she didnt see me at a machine! So now I feel like a man called a liar and I told her that their video cameras should show me playing a machine I don’t think I’ll be coming back here ever again because I feel insulted now on top of everything

As an 80s baby, this place hits me right in the nostalgia! The food and the vibe take me straight back to my grandparents’ house — cozy, familiar, and just plain happy. The games don’t quite fit the throwback theme, but hey, two outta three ain’t bad! It’s a little time warp in all the best ways.

The food is really inconsistent its always good just some days better. Where this place really shines is the bar tenders and the runners. They are all very friendly and fast. Great place to gamble and eat or just eat. Its definitely been around awhile so lots of us locals chose this spot.

If you’re missing home and need some homemade food , good atmosphere and friendly staff this is the place for you, this is not a fast food restaurant! You’ll be able to taste the difference!

I think you have to be friends with the bartender to get service. I like to go where the service is good. I’ll go elsewhere.

Go play bingo, or Keno, have a ceaser and breakfast. Fast service, great food and drinks.
Or bring the family and just have breakfast.
