This place is the bomb! The sour cream donut was out of this world, so good it didn’t even make it into the photo because I ate it first.
The ladies behind the counter were super friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. The donuts were fresh, flavorful, and not overly sweet, and you can tell they care about what they’re making.
I know donuts aren’t exactly health food, but everything in moderation, right? And these are definitely my vices. I’m so happy I found this place and this will definitely be a regular stop for us whenever we’re in the area. Highly recommend giving them a try, especially the sour cream donut!

Absolutely fantastic donuts, highly recommend the marshmallow crème donut – it was amazing. My favorite donut shop in Maryland so far! Remember to bring cash. A dozen donuts is 18$

I’d go here for the potato donut, the rest just taste like regular donuts you could get from anywhere. Maybe because I’m comparing them to Laurel Tavern donuts that literally melt in your mouth. I wish I would’ve tried the cinnamon crunch donut, I accidentally ordered the cinnamon roll and it just tasted like a regular glazed donut. Slightly disappointed from all the hype but definitely better than dunkin.

Cash only establishment! Really nice owner and amazing donuts. They’re flaky, non-greasy, and the icing is the perfect amount of sweet. I absolutely love their chocolate frosted donut and the one that has either strawberry or raspberry filling (I forget which one) but nonetheless the fruit filling was tart and so good. Definitely stop by for a box of these if you want to impress your coworkers one morning

Stopped in on my way home. The nice gentleman waited on me. He was very kind and welcoming. I have been a fan of Carlson’s since the 80s when I would go to the Annapolis shop. Always the best donuts in town, hands down! I don’t know what their secret is, but their donuts are fresh and delicious every single time! My favorite is the coconut and my husband’s favorite is the chocolate covered cake donut! If you’ve never tried Carlson’s you’re missing out!!

11/1/25 They are open again! You can no longer turn left into the shops, so either U-turn past the barriers or go around behind the McDonald’s.
9/29/25 The shop is closed (hopefully temporarily) due to a medical emergency. Note on door says to check Facebook page.
Cute little local donut shop. I think husband and wife run. Only bummer is cash only. We have come here several times and there’s always something tasty. It’s definitely better tasting than a chain shop and you know the profits mean a lot more.
Today we picked up two dozen donut holes and a half dozen donuts for $13.50. They had raspberry, apple, custard, and marshmallow filled powder donuts.
Most people come in the front entrance, but if you are struggling to get across the street with traffic, you can always turn in the McDonald’s lot and go behind/around the building.

I swear their donuts are the best tasting ever. Their glazed donut is 10 times better than Krispy Kreme glazed even when right out of the oven fresh. Their others are just as good but glazed are my faves.

Carlson’s Donuts are hands down the best donuts in Anne Arundel County! From the moment you walk in, the smell of fresh, homemade donuts lets you know you’re in for a treat. Their dough is perfectly soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of chew, and the glazes and fillings are always rich and flavorful.
Unlike chain donut shops, Carlson’s has that old-school, made-with-love quality that you can taste in every bite. Whether you’re grabbing a classic glazed or a decadent filled donut, you can tell they put care into every batch.
On top of that, the service is always warm and welcoming—it feels like a neighborhood staple where they truly appreciate their customers. If you haven’t tried Carlson’s yet, you’re missing out on the best donuts in town!
