I’d give 5 for food, but they were out of steaks, so 4. But they replaced by a perfect smoked salmon, so deserve the 5th star. Chowder was also perfect. Service was a little slow, and they didn’t have forks to everyone because they were in the washing machine, very weird…

Absolutely the best fish and chips I’ve had in Oak Harbor! The restaurant has a few tables inside and serves really delicious food. Everything was fresh, crispy, and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended!

We enjoyed the halibut/chips and the calamari/chips. We upgraded to sweet potato fries ($3 more/dish) and it’s worth it as they’re so crispy and well seasoned. The generous container of chili lime tartar went well with the hot seafood. There were only two other occupied tables when we went so our food came out quite fast!

DRY FISH, UNDERCOOKED POTATOES, AND VERY UNSANITARY CONDITIONS!!!!
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!

Unfortunately, our experience at this “restaurant” was extremely unsatisfactory. The fried fish (salmon, cod, and halibut) was very dry, the potatoes in the chowder were undercooked/still crunchy, and the halibut on the salad was very dry, unseasoned, and did not taste good at all!

The service is lackluster and terrible! The employees are kind…. but no one comes by to fill drinks nor ask how your meal is etc etc. It is next to impossible to flag someone down, as the “restaurant” is severely understaffed and the employees are clearly stressed out (only 2 servers and 2 cooks).

Behind the counter, you can visibly see a trash can (standard size trash can), where the cooks are pouring and dumping food into. After pouring and/or dumping food into the trash can, they reused the same pan (the pan was directly in and over the trash can). The disinfectant bucket was in plain view of customers (on top of the counter) and right next to an open pitcher of soda. There were tongs hanging within 1 1/2 feet from the floor and bread on a low shelf (about a foot from the floor). VERY UNSANITARY!!!

It is a fish market with a few tables on a busy street, but the food is amazing!! We had the clams and mussels in garlic and butter with toasted focaccia and the clam chowder. At first we were wondering why it took 15 mins, but everything is made to order, so the wait was worth it!! The bread was crispy with butter garlic, the clams and mussels, so tasty. But the clam chowder is the best we have ever had, and we live in a beach town!! Definately go for the freshest food, and good prices!! The staff and the owner were super nice and provided great service!! So happy we dropped in. This place is a must if you like great food!!!

I ordered a cup of clam chowder. I thought it was something readily available at a seafood restaurant in Oak Harbor. I was told it would take 10 to 15 minutes, AFTER I paid. I wouldn’t have ordered if I knew it would take that long, I was in a rush. It still took over 20 minutes for me to get it. I was so irritated at this point.
Then I tasted the clam chowder.. Now I’m mad that I didn’t order a bowl instead, but there was no way I was going to wait another 20+ minutes.
Definitely in the top 3 of best clam chowder I ever had. The cheese bread was a great surprise to get with it, instead of a bag of crackers. I will be telling everybody that even mention Oak Harbor to me about the amazing clam chowder here. But I also will be telling them about the 20 minutes wait. Definitely worth the wait if you’re not in a rush like I was. I’ll be back if I’m ever in Oak Harbor again.

Exceptional seafood, friendly courteous staff, a veritable museum of fishing pictures on the wall. We tried the cod and chips with a chili-lime tartar sauce and the clam chowder bowl. Both were excellent. Our first choice would have been the halibut and chips, but they were out of that and also beef at the time of our visit. Their kids menu for children has options beyond chicken tenders and cheeseburgers, which is a refreshing change.

One improvement they could make would be to tell patrons what they’re out of when they walk in – for some reason we saw that for our order and for other people who walked in, they would wait until they ordered to tell them what they already knew they didn’t have in the kitchen – it was a little frustrating and as a result it took us longer to order. Pro-tip: if you visit here, ask the server what they’re out of when you sit down. Ketchup for fish-and-chips is self-serve from the counter, wait staff don’t bring it to the table with the food. Wait staff might also improve by telling patrons that payment is at the counter when they drop off the check.

Bathrooms are clean and well-stocked.

This restaurant is well taken care of and well loved, and we’d stop again the next time we’re on Whidbey Island or bringing out-of-town visitors to see the sights.

We got the sampler plate with fries and the popcorn shrimp with a salad. We wanted the sweet potato fries but they told me after about 10 mins of waiting that they were out of sweet potato, sad day. The sampler plate has salmon halabit and cod. The salmon was bad, it was very fishy and tasted old. The halabit was ok, just a typical white fish. The food was very tasty but just a small piece was provided. The popcorn shrimp was ok but was mostly breading. The fries were ok but nothing special.

WOW! Amazing food at very reasonable prices. We came in on a sunny Wednesday around 3. It wasn’t too busy. We were quickly sat and had the kindest server. Sure wish I lived closer so I could come more often!

We got half order calamari, half order popcorn shrimp, fried pickle, mixed shells, and clam chowder. All of the food were great at reasonable price. My bf really liked their fries. I loved that the chowder was rich in clam meat.
